Nintendo privately updated the Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program website for a new game's playtest. As per the play testers who participated, it is Nintendo's new MMO game. The playtest will begin on October 23rd at 6:00 PM PT and conclude on November 5th at 5:00 PM PT.

A brand new Legend of Zelda adventure, Echoes of Wisdom, will launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch on September 26, 2024. The upcoming game puts players in the shoes of Princess Zelda after Link goes missing in an adventure.

New Nintendo Switch 2 leaks have surfaced online as multiple sources claim to know more about the device. According to the compiled leaks of Android Authority, Switch 2 will have could have 12GB of RAM, 2x 6GB LPDDR5X modules capable of 7,500MT/s transfer speed, and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Another leak from Brazilian streamer tvPH suggests that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be revealed in March 2025 as more information will come in Fall 2024.

As per the latest Nintendo Financial reports, The Nintendo Switch 2 hardware will get announced in this year itself at a later date. While there are plans to host a Nintendo Switch Direct, the Switch 2 will not be announced in that showcase.

Nintendo and its war with emulators continues. In a recent report, it seems Nintendo has issued a DMCA takedown for over 8500 Yuzu clones from Github. Discord also recently banned two popular emulators from its platform for copyright reasons too.

After thriving for twenty years in the game's community, Nintendo mods are finally leaving the popular Sandbox game Garry's Mod. This comes after Nintendo decided that enough is enough, and sent a formal request to Facepunch Studios to take down anything with Nintendo characters or IP on it. The studio also urges the modders to remove their Nintendo-related content from the game, if they've ever uploaded some.

Discord has taken down the accounts and entire servers of Nintendo Switch emulator developers. Suyu and Sudachi are the two emulators in question that appeared on March 4th right after Yuzu lost the lawsuit battle against Nintendo. According to Discord, it is a DMCA takedown for copyright infringement related issues.

Nintendo has sued the creators of the popular Switch emulator Yuzu, claiming that the software increases the piracy of Nintendo software, and also circumvents the console security. The company is looking for compensation for damages incurred, and immediate shutdown of the emulator, citing the Legend of Zelda leaks as an example.

The Nintendo Direct was a quiet one and felt like it was missing a bunch of exciting news. Thankfully, the company announced that five Rareware games from the retro era are coming for the Nintendo Switch Online! Killer Instinct, Battletoads in Battlemaniacs, Snake Rattle ‘n’ Roll, Blast Corps, and R.C. Pro-Am are the five games you can play in your Nintendo Switch now. You can access four of them if you have Nintendo Switch Online. To access the fifth game, you will need a Expansion Pack subscription.
