With the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Beta less than two weeks away, Infinity Ward may have just teased the next Warzone map in the latest episode of its “From the Ward” series, which featured the Alpha build of the Modern Warfare 4 Kill Block map. This episode was released on YouTube yesterday, August 10, 2026.
New Warzone Resurgence Map ‘Zodiac’ is Making Its Way to Modern Warfare 4 Beta
DETONATED spotted the information on X and captured a screengrab of the new Warzone Resurgence map, codenamed “Zodiac,” from Modern Warfare 4’s latest ‘From the Ward’ Episode 6.
In the replies to the X post, DETONATED initially assumed that “[Modern Warfare 4] S1 would just be this resurgence map”, stating he doesn’t know what else the Call of Duty team could come up with. To this, Call of Duty’s official studio community teams responded with the following quote: “find out in….beta?”
This all but confirms that a new Warzone map is indeed in the works as part of everything new coming to Modern Warfare 4 Season 1, and that players might get an exclusive look at it during the Open Beta weekends starting August 21, 2026. However, it could also be much more than simply a new Warzone map.
Players seem to think there might be a new Warzone beta for the map arriving with the Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta, as seen in replies to the original X post. However, the studio community team has only teased it on X, and neither the team nor Activision has officially confirmed anything.
For those out of the loop with Call of Duty, Warzone Resurgence is a fast-paced battle royale mode where players respawn automatically as long as at least one squadmate stays alive. This generally takes place on smaller maps such as Rebirth Island, Vondel, and Fortune’s Keep, and it seems like ‘Zodiac’ will join the fray soon.
Call of Duty has been on a roll lately, with new Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2 PS4 and PS5 ports topping the charts, and players being able to carry their 2XP tokens from Black Ops 7 and Warzone to Modern Warfare 4.
In addition, Call of Duty is partnering with Monster Energy to bring Modern Warfare 4-themed Monster cans that offer players in-game rewards, including 2XP codes. With these recent developments, a new Warzone map would be the icing on the cake.
