In a surprise announcement, Activision has confirmed that 2XP tokens from Call of Duty Black Ops 7 and Warzone will carry over to Modern Warfare 4. This comes as a sigh of relief for CoD players who had tons of 2XP tokens saved in Black Ops 7 and Warzone ahead of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4’s release.
Call of Duty Community Manager confirmed this on X, where they wrote, “We’ll be sippin’ on Monster and popping 2XP with the community on Day 1 of MP. (Your tokens from WZ/BO7 also transfer over).”
Historically, Call of Duty games have been inconsistent when carrying over 2XP tokens between games. While 2XP tokens carry over from Black Ops 6 to 7, the same did not happen from CoD Vanguard to MW2 due to differences in the game engine.
As a result, when Modern Warfare 4 was announced, players expected the 2XP tokens from BO7 and Warzone would not carry over. However, Call of Duty surprised players by implementing the carry-forward feature in MW4 from day 1.
However, this does not mean that you can enjoy the 2XP tokens in the upcoming MW4 Early Access Beta, which releases on August 21. But if you’re looking for more 2XP tokens, a new Monster x CoD collab will grant players free 2XP codes, making the grind easier when MW4 launches on October 23, 2026.
Additionally, COD Points will continue to transfer like usual. However, one thing to keep in mind is that COD Points are platform exclusive. This means if you are playing on PC, then you cannot transfer the COD Points to Xbox or any other platform.
This carryover will help maintain continuity between the titles. Many gamers who have plenty of unused XP tokens in BO7 and Warzone can enjoy a head start when Modern Warfare 4 launches to unlock weapons, blueprints, and Battle Pass tiers faster.
