In Short
    • Apple will be holding a special event which will stretch from March 2nd to March 4th.
    • During the event, the company is expected to announce the iPhone 17e, budget MacBook, and upgrades to iPad.
<li>MacBook Air is also set to receive an M5 upgrade, and it might be announced in the same event.

Apple’s March event is almost here, which Tim Cook is calling a “Big Week” for the company. This will be a 3-day event, starting on Monday, March 2nd, to March 4th. Apple is expected to launch a budget MacBook powered by an A-series chip, the iPhone 17e, and a refresh to the Mac and iPad lineup of devices.

What’s New with iPhone 17e

The most anticipated device of the March event has to be the iPhone 17e. It will be the successor to last year’s iPhone 16e, featuring the same 60Hz display. But it is rumored to get Dynamic Island instead of the outdated notch look on the 16e. It should come with a new A19 processor, but it might be a little underpowered than the one seen in the iPhone 17.

The phone could also adopt MagSafe, which was missing in the iPhone 16e. The camera setup seems to remain unchanged, with a 48MP single camera at the back. The iPhone 17e is not rumored to receive a price hike and should launch at a $599 price tag.

A Budget-Friendly MacBook

There have been numerous reports over the last year that Apple is planning to release a budget MacBook. This will ditch the M-series chipset for the Apple A18 Pro chipset, last seen on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. It will be available in a variety of colors, and might have a slim aluminum frame and a 13-inch display.

Apple could also ship it with 8GB RAM, since it is the least amount needed to support Apple Intelligence features. It will be aimed at students and priced less than $1,000.

Improved iPad Air and New 12th Gen iPad

Apple could also update the iPad Air series, with a newer M4 chipset, N1 networking chip, and C1X modem. It is not rumored to receive any design changes, and will be available in the traditional 11-inch and 13-inch options. The pricing should also remain unchanged, with the base variant starting at $599.

The Cupertino giant could also announce iPad 12th Gen. This will only be a spec bump over the 11th Gen model. It could come with the Apple A18 or A19 chipset, Apple Intelligence support, N1 networking chip, and the in-house C1X modem. There are no details about the storage upgrade, so the base variant with 128 GB storage could start at $349.

MacBook Pro with an M5 Upgrade

Apple upgraded the MacBook Pro with an M5 processor last year. This processor is 15% faster than the last generation M4 chip. Now, the company might bring the same M5 treatment to MacBook Air as well during the “Big Week” event.

There are also rumors of a 16-inch MacBook Pro with an M5 Pro or M5 Max chipset on board. But there are a few details about it. The pricing and design could remain untouched from the M4 models.

What Else Can We Expect from Apple’s Big Week Event?

For a while now, we have been hearing rumors that Apple could refresh the HomePod. Since Apple is set to announce Siri with Google Gemini, it would be the right time to introduce a new HomePod. Similar to HomePod, we are also due for an upgrade to Apple TV which could come as a surprise launch during the March event. So, we are waiting on Apple’s “Big Week” to start and will report on the new device releases as soon as they come.
