French authorities allege that Telegram has insufficient moderation and its platform is widely used for sharing child sexual content, drug trafficking, promotion of terrorism, fraud, etc. Telegram has failed to enforce the laws of the country. Telegram's position is that its CEO can't be prosecuted for abuse on its platform.
