- Claude Artifacts is a unique feature introduced by Anthropic that lets you create interactive apps and games in a jiffy.
- It runs the generated code in a separate window where you can preview the content and share it with others via a link.
- Claude Artifacts is free to use for all, and you can even create these interactive apps using its Android and iOS apps.
Anthropic has introduced a new feature called Artifacts to its Claude chatbot, powered by the top-tier Claude 3.5 Sonnet model. It’s a unique feature that allows you to create interactive content using Claude AI, but it has its own separate window and environment.
You can use the Claude Artifacts feature to make a simple browser game, an interactive dashboard, visualizations, charts, and diagrams. In addition, you can also create a simple app that can convert currency, a calculator to find the percentage difference, and so on. Best of all, you can share your Artifacts with others via a link.
Artifacts work by running the generated code in a separate window. In that way, it’s somewhat similar to ChatGPT’s Code Interpreter, which lets you run code in a separate environment. But, Claude allows you to preview the code and share your Artifacts with others via a link.
One thing to note though, Artifacts doesn’t support many programming languages. For example, it can’t execute Python or Java code. It mostly runs languages that can be rendered in a web browser like HTML, CSS, React, SVG, Mermaid, etc.
To give you an example, you can use Claude Artifacts to create a visual and interactive demo of how the solar system works. You can now share the Claue Artifact via a link and users can play with it or ‘Remix’ it to improve it further. The best part is that Artifacts is now free to all, and you can create new Artifacts on Android and iOS as well.
How to Use Claude Artifacts on the Web
- First of all, open Claude.ai (visit) in a browser and sign up with a free account.
- Next, move to Claude’s settings page (visit) and enable Artifacts at the bottom.
- Now, you can simply ask Claude to create something. For example, I told Claude to create a travel recommendation app.
- And there you go! It created an app where users can enter their budget and choose the type of destination from a drop-down menu. Upon clicking, you get a recommendation right away!
- To share it with your friends and family, you can click on the “Publish” button in the bottom-right corner.
- Next, click on “Publish and Copy Link.” Now, you can share the link and users don’t need to create an account to access it.
How to Use Claude Artifacts on Android and iOS
You don’t need a subscription to access Artifacts on Claude. It’s free to all and readily available on Android and iPhone.
- First, install the Claude by Anthropic app on Android or iOS.
- Next, sign in with a free account to get started with Artifacts.
- Then, go to your profile and make sure “Artifacts” is enabled.
- Now, simply start chatting with Claude. I asked Claude to create a nice timer app, and there you have it.
- I improved it further and asked Claude to add an input field to enter time and play a sound after the timer ends. It worked pretty well!
Keep in mind that Artifacts can’t be shared via the mobile app. You will need to use Claude on the web to publish your app and share a link with others. The Artifacts can be viewed on smartphones, though, without requiring the Claude app or an account.
