AMD’s Anti-Lag+ Making a Return After CS2 Debacle

AMD Anti-Lag+ is a feature to reduce input lag in games and increase the responsiveness. The horror began shortly after the feature was released back in September 2023. Players started getting banned in Counter-Strike 2 and other anti-cheat systems of games like Call Of Duty and Apex Legends also flagged users who were using Anti-Lag+. With this, AMD had to remove the feature completely from its GPU drivers. Now, AMD's Frank Azor has confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that AMD Anti-Lag+ is coming back soon!

New Linux Patches Posted by AMD! RDNA 4 Graphics Coming Soon?

AMD's Linux team has just posted a new series of Linux patches. Here, enablement work for AMD's upcoming graphics architecture (GFX12) happened including new components which are LSDMA 7.0, IH 7.0, HDP 7.0, and ATHUB 4.1. Given the version number on these components, it is highly expected that these are meant for AMD's RDNA 4 graphics architecture and not for the older generation. Reportedly, the Linux 6.9 merge window is in mid-2024 but we don't know if AMD will actually announce anything related to RDNA 4 around that time.
