10 Most Dangerous Characters in The Boys (Ranked)

The Boys is already four seasons in and has given us some really weird but rather dangerous characters. This series is known for its rawness and gore, and we are set to take one step further with the upcoming release of The Boys Season 5. However, if you are wondering which characters in this show are the most dangerous and are still up and around in The Boys Season 5, here is a list of the 10 most dangerous characters ranked, and all you need to know about them. The list is in descending order, it means you will find the most powerful The Boys character at the bottom.

A-Train

A-Train started as a character hated by almost everyone, but now he is one of the most beloved. A-Train, as of now, is going through one of the best redemption arcs we have seen in a while. As we all know, A-Train possesses super speed, strength, and above-average durability.

What makes him dangerous is his speed. He can run fast enough to shatter anyone to pieces if he bumps into them, making his attacks twice as powerful. Now, while his power is truly menacing, he does have his limits. The first major limit is exhaustion, and other than that, if another supe, phycially strong than him, gets his hands on A-Train somehow, he might not be able to escape unharmed.

Sam Riordan

Sam was introduced to us in Gen V as a troubled youngster and one of the strongest characters in Gen V, who had been a test subject at The Woods. However, as it turns out, his troubled personality eventually turns him into an antagonist. He has severe dementia and has incomparable superstrength, which makes him even more dangerous.

A demonstration of this was given to us when he ripped apart a whole squad of guards sent to capture him in Gen V, and in The Boys Season 4, was able to restrain Kimiko with a single hand. However, in Gen V Season 2, we see him go through what would be called a redemption arc, and he is now a part of Marie and her crew. There is a good chance that in The Boys Season 5, we will see Sam taking a stand against Homelander alongside his new crew.

Ryan

Ryan is the first natural-born supe in the world. With Homelander’s DNA, Ryan has all the powers Homelander has, but he is not able to fully control his powers as of now. However, looking at the way things are going, Ryan could turn out to be way more powerful and dangerous than Homelander in The Boys.

This is the reason why Grace and Butcher wanted to recruit Ryan to kill Homelander. However, things went south, and Ryan did not believe the things Grace told him about Homelander and ended up killing her before going back to Homelander. Now we can’t say for sure if Ryan is skeptical of Homelander or not, and if he will decide to go against his father in Season 5. So, we will have to wait till the final season airs to find out what happens.

William Butcher (Billy Butcher)

Butcher is the lead character in The Boys, hell-bent on taking down Homelander. However, in his pursuit of achieving this goal, he almost killed himself by overdosing on Temp V. The overdose gave him cancer, and in hopes of saving himself, he took Compound V, which, instead of giving him superpowers, made his tumor a sentient being that presents itself to him in the form of his deceased friend Joe Kessler.

Initially, Butcher does not go along with Joe’s idea of using the Supe killing virus to kill all the supes, but when Butcher sees Ryan kill Grace, he crosses his breaking point and complies with Joe Kessler’s plan to go ahead with the genocide. This grants Butcher powers in The Boys, which makes him extremely dangerous, and he ends up killing Victoria Neuman as the first victim of the plan.

Starlight

Throughout the three seasons of The Boys, Starlight has been shown as a supe who does not know the full potential of her powers and is still learning to use most of them. However, by the end of The Boys Season 4, we see that she regained her powers, and it seems that she is way stronger than she was before.

Now, she is probably the only Supe in The Boys, except Soldier Boy, who could hold her ground against Homelander. Starlight appeared in Gen V Season 2, and it is pretty much confirmed that she is now the leader of the resistance to Homelander’s regime, which will most probably be quite an important part of the upcoming season.

Polarity

Gen V Season 2 writes Chance Perdomo’s tragic death by giving Ander Anderson a heroic death instead of recasting him. We see his father, Polarity, going through tremendous grief for the loss of his son. However, after learning how to use her powers to heal, Marie uses them on Polarity and removes the disease that was slowly killing him, returning the hero to his maximum potential. Now, since he is back, there is a very good chance that we can see him in a much greater capacity in The Boys Season 5.

Homelander

There is no doubt that Homelander is one of the most dangerous supes in The Boys universe. He is the strongest supe created by Vought and possesses power beyond compare. No supe, except Soldier Boy, has ever been able to put a scratch on Homelander. However, that dynamic seems to have changed with the release of Gen V Season 2.

After Gen V, it appears that now, Marie is the strongest supe and possesses powers that can even take down Homelander. On the other hand, Homelander has quite literally reached the peak of deranged, so we can never expect what he will do next in The Boys Season 5.

Soldier Boy

The only supe that can kill Homelander is Soldier Boy. He was the first all-powerful Supe created by Vought, and Homelander was created using his DNA with some enhancements like flight, X-ray vision, and heat vision. Soldier Boy was kept in captivity by the Russians, who were studying his enhancements using heavy radiation.

This radiation gave Soldiers Boy powers to emit a strong radiation blast that could burn down Compound V in a Supe’s bloodstream, making them powerless. In season 3, the plan was to use the power of Soldier Boy to take away Homelander’s powers and kill him. But things did not go as planned, and it appeared as if Soldier Boy died at the end of the season.

However, in the final moments of The Boys Season 4, it was revealed that Soldier Boy is alive and is being kept in a cryo chamber. Now, since it’s confirmed that Soldier Boy will return in The Boys Season 5, it would be interesting to see in what kind of capacity we will witness his return.

Marie Moreau

Marie is the protagonist of Gen V and has a unique power. She can control blood and bend it to take any shape or form she desires. In Gen V, it was confirmed that Marie and Victoria Neuman have the same powers. This means that Marie can also make body parts blow up, which she did with Cate, making her equally dangerous as Victoria.

However, Gen V Season 2 revealed multiple levels to Marie’s powers, which technically makes her the most powerful supe Vought has ever created. Moreover, this time around, Marie has teamed up with all her friends and has joined the resistance under Starlight and A-Train. This means that The Boys Season 5 will most definitely have her as somewhat of a protagonist as well.

Thomas Godolkin

A new addition to the show is none other than Thomas Godolkin, the man behind every supe you see in The Boys. Gen V Season 2 revolved entirely around him, and by the end of the season, his apperance was truly unexpected. Now, if you have watched Gen V Season 2, you would know exactly what I am talking about, and if you have not, this would be a good time to tune in to Amazon Prime Video and check it out.

However, if we talk about powers, Thomas Godolkin AKA Cipher, has the power to control anyone’s mind and not just one person, multiple at a time, and a representation of what he is capable of came our way in the final episode of Gen V Season 2.

He might not possess super strength or flight, but his powers are truly menacing because imagine what he would be capable of if he managed to get into Homelander’s head, making him the most dangerous character in The Boys.
