Drum roll, please…the winner of the Minecraft Mob Vote 2023 is Armadillo. Yeah, this cute mob will be added in the next major update, allowing us to better protect our doggos. October has arrived and with it, a very exciting time for the Minecraft community. Minecraft Live 2023 is scheduled for October 15th, and the initial details for the Minecraft 1.21 update will be revealed. However, one more huge event will occur prior to the event, and that’s the Minecraft Mob Vote 2023. It’s a community-based vote that will allow players to contribute to the game’s future, choosing the new mob to be added to the game. In this article, we share everything you need to know about the upcoming mob candidates, so you have an easy time choosing your favorite one.
Choose the Next New Minecraft 1.21 Mob
Crab
The first mob option of the Minecraft Mob Vote 2023 has just been revealed. It’s a crab! In the official showcase video, the crab mob has an unusual vibrant blue shell. Moreover, one of its claws is pretty big compared to the other one. The mob will be the residents of the mangrove swamp biomes and will apparently be able to climb blocks vertically. This is a very cool mechanic that so far only spiders have.
One of the crabs in the video got submerged in the water and it seems like only the giant claw is visible. Maybe it’s that big that completely protects them from getting soaked. Tinies, in the video, mentions that players will love the crab claw because it will enable them to place blocks further away. What does this actually mean though? Armadillo
It’s another day and another mob has been announced for Mob Vote 2023! This time, it’s an armadillo! This cute creature lives in the warm climate of savanna biomes. The most interesting fact about it revealed in the official video is that it drops scutes. Those items will then be used in crafting armor for your tamed wolf.
This simple addition will make the wolves so much tougher and more suitable for larger battles. And if the armor is dyable, like the leather horse armor, your doggos will even look fancy while slaying those dumb zombies!
But will the armadillos drop scutes randomly, when they grow up or perhaps when they’re killed? We don’t know for sure just yet. Though we hope it drops them voluntarily as it would be a crime to kill such a sweet-looking mob! What do you think about the armadillo? Does it seem like it could be the winner? Penguin
The final mob in the Mob Vote 2023 has been announced! Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for the penguin! This cute and super-friendly mob will be seen on the currently, pretty boring, Stony Shore biomes. They would be both land and water mobs, much like axolotls. Even though they’re pretty clumsy on land, penguins will be amazing swimmers.
And they would use their skills to help you out too. So, their ability would be to make your boat travel faster, so you can get to your destination in time. Would that mechanic function similarly to the dolphin’s grace effect or perhaps in a different way? What do you think? Would you like penguins to guide your boat? How to Vote in Minecraft Mob Vote 2023
The process for voting in Minecraft Mob Vote 2023 is the same as the previous year. You can cast your vote in three different ways:
- Within a special Bedrock server
- Within the Minecraft Launcher
- On the official Minecraft website
The voting will start on October 13, 2023, at 1 PM EDT (10:30 PM IST) and end on October 15, 2023, at 1:15 PM EDT (or 10:45 PM IST), lasting for exactly 48 hours and 15 minutes, This will give everyone in the Minecraft community plenty of time to vote for their preferred mob. I hope Penguin win! I was good player at Minetest, Minetest has Penguins with some mods, they was cute, but completely silly. They only can walk, swim, and that’s all. You can’t breed them, and they can spawn only from spawn egg. So if my favorite Penguin win, i want inteligent pets. But if win Crab or Armadillo, i’m okay with it.

Well, you see… The penguin will be a really useless mob later on in the game. Since most of us players would either use elytra or tridents with riptide to cross vast oceans, not boats. It would only be good for early game if you want to cross oceans or something similar. The armadillo would be a pretty good mob to exist in the game, as you can keep your wolves more protected. That is if you always use your wolves to fight mobs or something. However, the crab would be the best mob to exist in the game. As there is an endless use for the crab claw. No matter how much you have played the game in your world, completed advancements, and everything, the crab claw can always be used to place blocks further away! It would help with building mob farms, XP farms, and the sort. It would always be a great tool to have in hand. To conclude this, we can never know what limits these uses of these mobs are going to be, so we’ll just wait to find out!
