Embracer Group has published its Q1 interim report for FY26/27 on August 13, 2026, revealing new info about its upcoming title Metro 2039. According to Embracer’s report, Metro 2039 surpassed 1 million wishlists “in record-breaking time” shortly after its April 2026 announcement, achieving the milestone faster than previous titles in Embracer’s history.
The report further notes that momentum for Metro 2039 remains strong, with wishlists continuing to surpass internal expectations. With it, Embracer has also reaffirmed the game’s February 2027 release window, alongside Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, putting fears of another delay to rest.
Embracer has also confirmed that Metro 2039 is heading to Gamescom 2026, giving players a hands-on experience with the upcoming post-apocalyptic FPS title. For those unaware, Gamescom 2026 is set to take place from August 26 to August 30, in Cologne, Germany.
In addition to Metro 2039 info, Embracer Group has said it expects to release the next Kingdom Come: Deliverance title and Darksiders 4 in FY 2027/28. This includes Tomb Raider Catalyst as well.
Around 2 months ago, Metro 2039 gameplay trailer dropped, contributing to its 1 million wishlists till date. The trailer also confirmed that the game’s release had shifted from Winter 2026 to sometime in 2027, with developers later revealing a February 2027 release window.
Metro 2039 takes place in a post-apocalyptic Russia after nuclear attacks caused destruction during the World War II. Similar to its predecessors, the upcoming title will be a survival-horror FPS with resource management in its diegetic UI, familiar weapons from the franchise, and new enemy types walking the post-apocalyptic Moscow.
