Insomniac’s Spider-Man 3 Could Still Be Alive, IMDb Listing Suggests

A new IMDb listing for Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 has surfaced, reigniting hope for the trilogy closer. The title was previously thought to be stuck in limbo after the Sony hack that leaked a bunch of their upcoming titles. Now, it looks like players might get to play as the Web Crawler once again.

According to the IMDb listing, Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 is listed as “In Production” alongside Yuri Lowenthal, who plays the role of Peter Parker in the series. It is no secret that Insomniac Games is currently focused on the release of Marvel’s Wolverine. However, the emergence of the new IMDb page could be hinting at the studio’s long-term plans, especially after Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 proved to be as successful as it did.

Additionally, Yuri Lowenthal has previously gone on record and teased that Peter’s story is far from over, further suggesting that Peter Parker will be returning after seemingly “retiring” at the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It is also possible that Lowenthal might be hinting at the Insomniac Venom game, which is also said to be in active development.

Of course, Insomniac has not yet provided a statement about Spider-Man 3 being in active development. However, if the project is, in fact, in the works, then players can expect a potential release window in late 2027 or 2028 at the earliest. This is based on the release patterns for Insomniac’s previous Spider-Man games, with the developers releasing both games with a 5-year gap in between.

For now, fans should treat the new IMDb listing for Insomniac’s Spider-Man 3 with a healthy grain of salt and wait for confirmation from Sony or Insomniac. With the developers ready to round out their video game release calendar for 2026, players can hope that the announcement for Spider-Man 3 comes in early 2027.
