When Does Marvel’s Wolverine Release?

Marvel’s Wolverine is releasing on September 15, 2026, and will feature New Game+ and mission replays from day one. Its release date was confirmed via an official post by Insomniac’s X account. Although Insomniac Games hasn’t revealed release times for various regions, Marvel’s Wolverine is expected to launch at midnight local time, similar to the digital release of other PlayStation first-party titles.

A September release means the game will be competing against the likes of Control Resonant, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, etc for consumer attention. However, we reckon that Insomniac’s title will do just fine, given the level of hype around its release.

What Platforms Will Marvel’s Wolverine Be On?

Marvel’s Wolverine will be released exclusively on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. Since Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Insomniac Games has moved away from its cross-gen approach and opted for PS5 exclusives to completely utilize the PS5’s hardware. Therefore, Marvel’s Wolverine won’t release on PS4.

On the other hand, if you are wondering whether Insomniac Games will release Marvel’s Wolverine on PC, the game likely won’t have a PC release. Although Ratchet & Clank and Spider-Man games had PC releases, Sony is returning to its exclusivity roots once again.

Apparently, single-player games will stay on PlayStation from now on. So, let us wait and see if Sony changes its mind once again in the future.

Will Marvel’s Wolverine Have a Physical Release?

Insomniac Games has confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine will have a physical release. When asked whether the physical editions will include a disc or just a code, Insomniac remarked: “The physical version will include a disc in the box.”

Recently, Sony announced it’s ending physical PlayStation discs for new games. However, since Marvel’s Wolverine is releasing in 2026, it will luckily have a physical release. Furthermore, Insomniac Games has also confirmed that the upcoming Wolverine game will be fully playable on disc at a preview event.
