AMD's Ryzen 7 5700 is slow in gaming performance benchmarks, as revealed by testing of Hardware Unboxed. The new processor has drastically reduced L3 Cache when comparing to Ryzen 7 5700X. Because of this, it ends up being slower than the Ryzen 5 5600 as well. The Ryzen 5 5600 is also a more affordable desktop processor under the AMD AM4 platform.
AMD has launched a new desktop processor under the older Ryzen 5000 series. The AMD Ryzen 7 5700 has 8-cores and 16-threads, and is reportedly launching for $180. The processor does not have any integrated graphics, and is supported on most AM4 motherboards after a BIOS update. This new processor is an excellent budget CPU that will offer competent multi-core performance.
