In Short
  • TT Games has benched LEGO Marvel Games for the foreseeable future.
  • The next LEGO game will focus on a major Warner Bros IP.
  • It is confirmed that the next LEGO game will not be Batman, but rather adapt a different IP.

A new report suggests that TT Games, the studio behind some of the most iconic superhero LEGO games, is placing its long-running Marvel games series on hold indefinitely. With Warner Bros. focusing more on its own in-house universes, it looks like DC is stepping into the LEGO superhero spotlight once again.

The report was revealed in an X post by LEGOTtNewsl. This comes on the heels of confirmation that the next LEGO game will focus on a major Warner Bros IP, especially after the success of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.

Because of this corporate pivot, the beloved LEGO Marvel franchise, with games like LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, has been benched. So, players who are waiting for a new blocky adventure set within the Marvel universe will have to wait for a very, very long time.

While many players were hoping for a LEGO Harry Potter, or rather a Dune adaptation, insiders have already denied both to be a possibility any time soon. Despite the info that the upcoming LEGO game is based on a major Warner Bros. IP, the report also suggests that it will not be a Batman game.

This leaves the door wide open for a plethora of IPs under the Warner Bros. belt. This includes games for characters like Superman, Wonder Woman, or even Justice League, which would fill the void left by some of the best LEGO games, including Marvel titles like LEGO Marvel’s Avengers.

Now that a new LEGO Avengers game seems quite distant, you can experience the heroes in the latest Avengers Age of Ultron mode in Marvel Rivals.

There is also a chance that the upcoming LEGO title can be a new Game of Thrones game, as Warner Bros. also owns that IP. For now, all players can do is guess and hope for what the next LEGO game will be, and that Marvel is taken off the bench soon.

Which IP do you think LEGO would adapt for its next game? Let us know in the comments below!
