In Short
  • Game Freak has released the first major update for Beast of Reincarnation, which fixes multiple PC launch-day issues.
  • The update fixes issues with camera adjustments and story pacing that players had pointed out.
  • Another major issue resolved is changing cinematic cutscenes to Performance mode by default to deliver higher FPS.

Last week, Game Freak’s action RPG Beast of Reincarnation opened with ‘mixed’ Steam reviews and plenty of backlash from PC players at launch. To address the issues at hand, Game Freak has finally dropped the first Beast of Reincarnation update to fix the issues players have been complaining about.

Beast of Reincarnation’s First Major Patch Fixes Camera Behavior and Story Pacing Issues

The newly released Beast of Reincarnation update, patch v1.0.7 dated August 9, 2026, fixes the game’s poor technical performance, awkward camera behavior, and rigid combat design. In detailed patch notes posted by Fictions on their website, the very first of many listed changes fixed the camera adjustment issues faced by players in and out of combat.

Since Game Freak publicly owned up to issues with Beast of Reincarnation and vowed to fix them last week, the first update has already added major changes to the game that balance these issues.

Another fix is with the story pacing, where players felt some of the affinity-building conversations were repeated in the game. The latest Beast of Reincarnation update has fixed it in such a way that those conversations are now limited to once per day.

Cutscenes were also one of the big issues that plagued the launch of Beast of Reincarnation on PC. The cutscenes were locked at 24 fps by default in cinematic mode, and it caused visual stuttering and choppy playback. Beast of Reincarnation update v1.0.7 fixes this by changing the default cinematic mode to performance mode, resulting in higher framerates.

Game Freak also mentioned that “multiple” additional patches for Beast of Reincarnation are planned for the future while they work on the first update. These updates will use player feedback to make various fixes and adjustments to the game. In the future, the company behind major Pokemon games, plans to implement DLSS 4/4.5 and FSR4 to the game as well.

While the swift reception to player feedback is commended by Beast of Reincarnation players, some are still dissatisfied, saying, “These fixes are great, but seem too late.” Given the game has been out for a week now, these balance changes could have been implemented earlier, before players finished Beast of Reincarnation’s 30-40 hour campaign.
