- Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is confirmed to be released on May 1, 2026.
- The future of this movie is still hanging in the middle because of Jonathan Major's legal issues, and Marvel looking for his perfect replacement.
- The cast of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is likely to include Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel, Hailee Steinfeld as Hawkeye, and Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang, among others.
It has been a long time since 2012 when the first Avengers movie was released. The decision Marvel Studios made to bring our favorite superheroes together is most probably the best it ever made. The Avengers franchise is easily one of the biggest franchises in the world. There have been a total of five Avengers movies to date, and the next one in the pipeline is called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. However, the future of this movie is uncertain as Jonathan Majors was recently fired from the MCU. Still, for those curious, here is all we know about the Avengers: The Kang Dynasty movie so far.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Release Date
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is set to be released on May 1, 2026. Initially, the release date set for the movie was May 2, 2025. However, their plan changed when the MCU decided to schedule Kang Dynasty after the debut of The Fantastic Four in the MCU.
Now, I’m not saying that the Fantastic Four might show up in this movie, but I won’t mind the idea. As of now, let’s wait for the release of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and see what happens.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Trailer
Since Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026, we are more than two years away from it at the time of writing. As of now, we don’t have any official trailers for the film but can expect the trailer to drop sometime towards the end of 2025 or early 2026.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Cast
If we talk about the cast of this upcoming Avengers movie, Jonathan Majors was supposed to be playing the role of Kang. However, because of his recent court verdict, MCU fired Majors, and he will no longer be a part of MCU, possibly causing a further delay in the release of this movie.
Since Majors has been fired, there have been talks regarding the hiring of Colman Domingo as the next Kang, which seems to be a good choice considering his previous roles.
Other than this, the Avengers: the Kang Dynasty cast has the potential to be diverse. The ending of The Marvels confirmed the formation of The Young Avengers. There’s a high probability that we might get to see Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel, Hailee Steinfeld as Hawkeye, and Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang in this movie.
We might also get to see a few members of the OG Avengers. Ant-Man can play a titular role in this movie since he is the only one except Loki who has hands-on experience fighting against Kang.
Currently, we do not have an official cast list for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but the possibilities for this one are practically endless. So let’s wait for an announcement from Marvel.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Plot Theory
If we take into account the Infinity Saga, the last two movies brought together all the elements set in the entirety of the saga. As far as I think, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will act as an anchor for all the multiversal elements we have seen to date in the MCU, which will lead to a conclusion set in Avengers: Secret Wars.
If we look at the recent Marvel releases, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania introduced us to the council of Kangs, The Marvels had set up the inclusion of X-Men into the MCU, Deadpool 3 is going to make a release in July, 2024, which is literally bringing in the multiversal elements together, and the Fantastic Four is set to release in 2025. Furthermore, the Young Avengers got its canon tease in The Marvels.
Everything that we have on our plate as of now is setting us up for a great multiversal war between the most unexpected heroes and the council of Kangs.
I believe that Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars are going to play the same role in the Multiverse Saga as Infinity War and Endgame did in the Infinity Saga. However, these details are based on observations and patterns followed by MCU, and only time will tell how many of these theories will come true. Till then, stay tuned for further updates!
Considering the fact that Loki is so closely connected to the whole multiverse and variants of Kang like He Who Remains and Victor Timely, there is a chance that Loki might play a role in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. However, there is no official confirmation yet.
The Council of Kangs will be the main villains of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Jonathan Majors was supposed to play the role of Kang, however, since he has been fired from the MCU, there is going to be a recasting done for the role.
