- The devs said that the performance mode was already under development, but was not revealed because it was being tested.
One of the hotly anticipated games, The Blood of Dawnwalker, is finally getting a 60 FPS Performance Mode at launch. Among the upcoming games of 2026, The Blood of Dawnwalker stands as one of the most promising titles this year, and now Rebel Wolves have heard fan feedback to deliver a 60 FPS mode for PS5 and Xbox consoles on day one, when the game releases on September 3, 2026.
Rebel Wolves Announce 60 FPS Performance Mode for The Blood of Dawnwalker on Day One
In an X post made via the official The Blood of Dawnwalker account, Rebel Wolves wrote, “The Blood of Dawnwalker will receive a Performance Mode targeting 60 FPS on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X on Day 1 through the launch patch.”

The devs further added in the post, “Performance Mode was already in the works, but it was still being tested”. They went on to explain that the only reason why they held off on announcing it was that they didn’t want to make half-baked promises.
In a thread attached to the X post, devs also mentioned that PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X will be getting three different graphics modes. Performance mode will target 60 FPS, while balanced and quality mode will aim for 40 FPS and 30 FPS, respectively. The PS5 Pro will also receive overall visual enhancements. Meanwhile, Xbox Series S will only target 30 FPS.
The controversy started when the studio showcased gameplay footage running on a PS5 Pro, where fans could only see the quality and balanced modes, and missed a 60 FPS mode. This was the first time the game received massive pushback from fans since it was first announced in January 2025.
When games like Marvel’s Wolverine support 60 FPS on the base PS5, many fans argued that a 60 FPS mode for The Blood of Dawnwalker was the bare minimum. Since the devs previously announced The Blood of Dawnwalker system requirements, revealing that the game could run at 60 FPS on Ultra settings on PC, fans argued why console players are left behind in getting higher framerates.
Ever since the latest announcement of a performance mode, fans have now thanked devs for listening to community feedback and implementing it swiftly with clear communication. The Blood of Dawnwalker releases on September 3, 2026, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
