Honkai Star Rail's latest drip marketing campaign revealed three new characters — Sparkle, Misha and Black Swan. All three characters will likely feature in the upcoming Honkai Star Rail 2.0 update, which is also set to release Penacony. The drip marketing campaign also hints about Acheron not featuring in the 2.0 banners, however she will play a big role in the Penacony Trailblazer missions.

Honkai Star Rail just confirmed that Penacony is coming in the 2.0 update in their new Developer Radio: Penacony Special Edition and showcased Black Swan in their new Drip Marketing. Other changes coming to Honkai Star Rail 2.0 update — salvaging relics into Lost Gold fragments, specific sub stat relic inventory filter, a new mission glossary system, new free light cones coming to the Light Cone Manifest store, new universal Path materials, and Relic enhance to the next stage function.

Honkai Star Rail 1.6 Livestream has just been announced to release in December 15, 2023, at 7:30 PM (UTC+8). The Livestream will shed light on the new events and characters coming in the 1.6 update. The update is expected to feature 3 new characters: Ruan Mei, Dr. Ratio, & Xueyi, and also introduce the new Pure Fiction game mode.
