Robin in Honkai Star Rail: Should You Pull Her in HSR 2.2?

In Short
  • Robin is an excellent choice if you have a Follow-up attack focused team.
  • Robin appears to be better than both Ruan Mei and Sparkle in terms of raw damage numbers.
  • She has great offensive and support abilities, making her a good pick for most teams.

Honkai Star Rail will feature Robin in the first phase of version 2.2, and many players are wondering whether she is worth pulling for in the 2.2 banners. Robin is a 5-star Physical Harmony character, and her kit is a mix of offensive and support elements. Here is a complete analysis of Robin’s pros and cons, so that you know whether to pull for her or not in Honkai Star Rail 2.2.

Honkai Star Rail Robin Kit

Robin has a strong offensive and support kit, and if built correct, she can increase the damage output significantly for any team, especially Follow-up attack-focused teams. She completely scales on Attack and has many team-wide buffs with great uptime.

Her skill gives a straight Damage buff to all the allies, and her Ultimate Action Forwards all allies by 100%, while also increasing their Attack.

When Robin has used her Ultimate, she enters the Concerto state. In this state, whenever an ally attacks an enemy, they receive additional Physical damage from Robin. One of the Ascension abilities further increases Damage dealt by Follow-up attacks when she is in the Concerto state.

Now that you understand her strengths and how to play her, let’s take a look at how Robin compares to other top support characters.

  • Robin vs Ruan Mei: Robin and Ruan Mei are very comparable to each other, with easy-applying buffs and significantly increasing the damage output of the team. However, in terms of raw numbers and usability, Robin does come out on top.
  • Robin vs Sparkle: Sparkle provides a very unique solution to Skill Point efficiency, which no other Support unit can provide. Sparkle is also particularly good with Skill point negative characters, however, for other DPS units, Robin comes out on top in terms of raw team damage.

Best Team Synergies for Robin

Robin is very strong in most Hypercarry teams, but she particularly excels in Follow-up focused teams. If you have a lot of Follow-up focused DPS units, like Dr. Ratio, Clara, Topaz, or Aventurine, you can use them to increase the damage output by a lot.

However, other characters can also use Robin’s buffs and deal significantly more damage. She is a great unit for most teams.

Does Robin Need Her Signature Light Cone?

Robin’s signature Light Cone, Flowing Nightglow is a strong Harmony Light Cone as it increases the wearer’s Attacks and Energy Regeneration Rate, while also buffing the damage dealt to allies. Her other Light Cone options are not that great, and the difference between her Signature Light Cone and her other usable Light Cones is quite big.

Nonetheless, you can still use Robin quite effectively without her Light Cone, but her Light Cone will significantly increase her efficiency.

Should You Pull for Robin?

Now that you have taken a look at everything Robin provides, let’s boil everything down to her strengths and weaknesses.

Robin’s Strength:

  • Makes all allies take immediate action after using her Ultimate.
  • Great buff uptime and applies to the entire team.
  • Strong offensive abilities and can deal significant damage with her best build.
  • Particularly strong with Follow-up focused teams.

Robin’s Weakness:

  • Cannot take action during the Concerto state.
  • Less Light Cone options.

Overall, Robin is a very strong Harmony unit and is a must-pull if you have a Follow-up attack-focused team. I will recommend you pull for Robin if you have the spare Stellar Jades and especially if you missed out on Ruan Mei.
