Clara is a 5-star Destruction character with the Physical attack type and is considered the queen of counterattacks. She is an S-tier character and one of the strongest main DPS in the game. Her kit is essentially Follow-up attack-focused, and with the release of the new relics, she has consistently become stronger. If built correctly, she can easily hyper-carry through MoC and Swarm Disaster. Here is how you can best build Clara for maximum damage output.

Clara is a young orphaned girl from Belobog. Svarog, the ancient mech, raised her, and he and the robots became her only family. She is soft-spoken and shy, and her greatest wish is to form a family.

Clara’s Upcoming Banners and Release Date

Clara is always available in the standard banner and doesn’t have limited-time banners. If you are lucky, you can get Clara from the 5-star guaranteed pull in the beginner banner. She always features on the standard banners, so you can pull her from there or when you lose the 50-50 in the limited-time character banners. To get Clara guaranteed, you need to select her after your 300 pulls in the Normal Warp banner.

Clara’s Kit and Cycle Rotation (At Max Level)

Clara is a powerful DPS with a unique counterattack playstyle. She is very easy to play if you know her kit well. Let’s look at Clara’s kit to understand her playstyle and turn cycle rotation.

  • I Want to Help (Basic Attack): Deals flat Physical Damage to a single enemy, equal to 130% of her Attack.
  • Svarog Watches Over You (Skill): It deals AoE Physical Damage to all enemies, equal to 150% of her Attack. Additionally, deals extra damage to enemies marked with Mark of Counter by 150% of her Attack. This Skill also removes all marks of the counter from enemies.
  • Promise, Not Command (Ultimate): Reduces Damage taken by an extra 30% and increases Clara’s aggro for 2 turns. Furthermore, changes Svarog’s counter to an enhanced counter 2 times, which makes Svarog deal a counter Follow-up attack when any ally is attacked, with an increased damage multiplier of 192%. Adjacent enemies also take 50% of the damage dealt to the main target.

  • Because We’re Family (Talent): Damage taken by Clara is reduced by 10% and Svarog marks any enemy that attacks Clara. Furthermore, Svarog retaliates with a counter Follow-up attack when an enemy attacks Clara, dealing Physical damage equal to 200% of her Attack.
  • A Small Price for Victory (Technique): Increases Clara’s aggro for 2 turns after entering battle. This technique also immediately attacks enemies upon use and starts combat.

Playing Clara correctly revolves around drawing aggro towards her and ensuring she doesn’t die. The more she is hit, the more damage she deals. Her Ultimate and Talent decreases the damage she takes, making her much tankier. Her Ultimate also draws aggro, allowing her to mark more enemies and do more counters.

Also, Clara does the most damage when she takes her turn after all the enemies. This allows enemies to attack Clara, allowing her to mark all of them before she uses her Skill.

Her ideal turn cycle rotation is Skill > Skill > Skill > Skill, and you need to use her Ultimate whenever you can.

Best Teams for Clara

Clara’s entire kit is based on taking damage and making counterattacks. So, pairing characters with Clara, who helps her draw more aggro, is the best choice. Her best pair will be Lynx, as her skill will allow Clara to receive more attacks from enemies. Similarly, March 7th‘s shield also gives aggro to the ally, so having her in the team is also a good option.

Besides that, you can pair Clara with enemy debuffers and ally amplifiers like Pela, Silver Wolf, Tingyun, and Asta. Luocha is also a good choice for a sustain as his reactive heals can come in handy when Clara is low on health.

Should You Pull for Clara in Honkai Star Rail?

Clara is a very strong character, and pulling her is tricky as she doesn’t have a limited banner. If you have Bronya, you can pick Clara from the free 300-pull Standard Banner. However, Bronya should be the priority if you don’t have her. Besides that, I suggest you refrain from chasing after Clara, as you can always get her from missing your 50-50 in the Limited banners.
