Update: Castorice’s kit has been updated based on the latest HSR 3.2 Beta leaks on March 21, 2025
Castorice is the most hyped character in Honkai Star Rail’s Amphoreus trailblazing arc. She played a huge role in the initial story arc, helping the Trailblazer navigate the old land of Castrum Kremnos in order to find the secret behind the Strife Titan’s immortality. Castorice has showcased a unique ability to kill enemies just by her mere touch or presence, hinting at a powerful kit once she becomes playable. With Castorice’s Drip Marketing released, here is everything we know about Castorice’s kit, release date, rarity, element, and path in Honkai Star Rail.
Honkai Star Rail Castorice Drip Marketing

Castorice’s drip marketing has released by Hoyoverse and it reveals interesting information on the beloved Chrysos Heir of Amphoreus. She is named the ‘Servant of Death’, Castorice has the divine authority of Hand of Shadow. Thanatos is also mentioned in her Divine Authority but with a question mark, suggesting there is much more to be revealed later in the story.
The land that reveres death, Aidonia, where snow falls endlessly, has today drifted into a sweet slumber.
Castorice, daughter of the River of Souls, Chrysos Heir in search of “Death” Coreflame, sets forth. You must guard the lament of souls and embrace the solitude of destiny.
— Life and death are but a journey. When butterfly alights on the branch, what withers will bloom anew.
We already guessed that Castorice would pursue Death’s Coreflame during the Amphoreus arc, which is finally confirmed in her Drip marketing.
Honkai Star Rail Castorice Release Date

With Castorice’s Drip Marketing being released, it’s confirmed that she will be released in Honkai Star Rail 3.2, likely during the first phase. If everything goes according to the normal 42-day version cycle, then Castorice will be released around April 08, 2025. She will likely be on the banners alongside Anaxa, the other 5-star character in HSR 3.2. With so many high-profile characters featuring in version 3.2, you should take a look at the HSR codes list to get some extra Stellar Jades for gacha pulls.

HSR Castorice Leaked Kit

Castorice’s kit has been leaked from HSR 3.2 Beta and posted on Reddit. Here, I have compiled all the sources to create Castorice’s leaked kit. As it is still early in development, her kit will likely change a lot over the next few weeks. Bookmark this post to constantly stay updated on her kit:
- Unique Ability (Sanctuary of Mooncocoon): After obtaining Castorice or when Castorice is in the current team, receive the following effect: In battle, when an ally character receives a killing blow, all allies that received a killing blow in this action enter the “Mooncocoon” state. Characters in “Mooncocoon” temporarily delay becoming downed and can take 1 action normally. After the action, if they receive healing or have a Shield before their next turn, “Mooncocoon” is removed. Otherwise, they will be downed immediately. This effect can be triggered 1 time per battle.
- Basic Attack (Lament, Nethersea’s Ripple): Deals Quantum damage to a single target equal to 50% of Castorice’s Max HP.
- Skill (Silence, Wraithfly’s Caress): Consumes 30% of all allies’ Max HP. Deals blast Quantum damage equal to a 50% of Castorice’s Max HP to the main target and 30% to the adjacent targets. If current HP is insufficient, this ability will reduce HP to 1. Once Netherwing is on the battlefield, this Skill becomes Boneclaw, Doomdrake’s Embrace instead.
- Enhanced Skill (Boneclaw, Doomdrake’s Embrace): Consumes 40% of all allies’ current HP, except Netherwing’s, and then Castorice and Netherwing launches a Joint Attack on the target, dealing AoE Quantum damage equal to 30% and 50% of Castorice’s Max HP.
- Ultimate (Doomshriek, Dawn’s Chime): Summons the memosprite Netherwing and advances its action by 100%. At the same time, creates the Territory “Lost Netherland,” which decreases all enemies’ All Type Resistance by 20%. If the Damage boost from Castorice’s Talent is active, the effect is extended to Netherwing. Netherwing has and initial Speed of 165 and a set Max HP equal to 100% of max “Newbud.” After Netherwing acts 3 times or when its HP is 0, it disappears and dispels the territory “Lost Netherland”.
- Talent (Desolation Across Palms): Max “Newbud” is based on all characters’ levels on the battlefield. For each point of HP lost by all allies, Castorice gains 1 point of “Newbud.” When “Newbud” reaches its maximum, Castorice’s Ultimate can be used. When allies lose HP, Castorice’s and Netherwing’s Damage dealt increase by 20%. This effect can stack up to 3 times, lasting for 3 turns. When Netherwing is on the field, “Newbud” cannot be gained through Talent, and HP lost by all allies (except Netherwing) will be converted to an equal amount of HP for Netherwing.
- Technique (Wail, Death’s Herald): Enters the Netherveil state for 20 seconds. In this state, enemies are unable to approach Castorice on their own. Entering battle by attacking enemies in this state will summon Netherwing at the start of the combat. Netherwing starts with current HP equal to 50% of max Newbud. After entering the battle, it consumes 40% of all allies’ current HP and advances Netherwing’s action by 100%. After entering battle and before summoning Netherwing, Castorice gains “Newbud” equal to 30% of the maximum “Newbud.”
- Memosprite Skill 1 (Claw Splits the Veil): Deals AoE Quantum damage equal to 40% of Castorice’s Max HP.
- Memosprite Skill 2 (Breath Scorches the Shadow): Consumes HP equal to 25% of Netherwing’s max HP and deals AoE Quantum Damage equal to 24% of Castorice’s Max HP. In one attack, “Breath Scorches the Shadow” can be activated repeatedly, with the Damage multiplier increasing respectively to 28% / 34%, until 34%. The Damage Multiplier Boost effect will not be reduced before Netherwing disappears. When HP is at 25% or lower, activating the ability will reduce HP to 1, and then trigger the ability effect equal to that of the Talent “Wings Sweep the Ruins.”
- Memosprite Skill 3 (Wings Sweep the Ruins): Consumes all HP and deals 6 instances of Damage, with every instance dealing Quantum Damage equal to 50% of Castorice’s Max HP to one random enemy unit.
- Memosprite Talent 1 (Mooncocoon Shrouds the Form): Netherwing acts as “Backup” for allies when it is on the field. After allies take damage and their current HP reduces to a minimum of 1, Netherwing will start bearing the Damage received at 500% of the original Damage until Netherwing disappears.
- Memosprite Talent 2 (Roar Rumbles the Realm): When Netherwing is summoned, increases Damage dealt by all allies by 10% for 3 turns.
- Memosprite Talent 3 (Wings Sweep the Ruins): When Netherwing disappears, deals 6 instances of Damage, with every instance dealing Quantum damage equal to 40% of Castorice’s Max HP to one random enemy unit. At the same time, restores HP to all allies by equal to 6% of Castorice’s Max HP plus 800.
- Trace 1 (Contained Dark Tide): After ally targets (excluding Netherwing) receive healing, converts 100% of healed value into “Newbud.” If Netherwing is on the battlefield, the healing is instead converted into Netherwing’s HP. The converted value for each ally target cannot exceed 12% of “Newbud”‘s maximum limit. The accumulated conversion value from all units resets after any unit takes action..
- Trace 2 (Inverted Torch): While Castorice’s current HP is equal to 50% of her Max HP or higher, increases her SPD by 40%.
- Trace 3 (Where the West Wind Dwells): Each time Netherwing uses “Breath Scorches the Shadow,” increases its Damage dealt by 30%. This effect stacks up to 6 and lasts until the end of this turn.
- Trace Stat Boosts: 18.7% Crit Rate Boost, 14.4% Quantum Damage Boost, 13.3% Crit Damage Boost
