Sunday is finally releasing in the version 2.7 and there is a massive amount of hype around this character. In the Penacony arc, Sunday acted as the main villain. After being defeated by the Trailblazer and Robin, he had a change of heart and decided to mend his ways. His playable character is going to the first meta unit for the upcoming Remembrance meta, so it will be smart to invest in him now. If you are planning to get Sunday, here is how you can best build Sunday in Honkai Star Rail.
Honkai Star Rail Sunday Build: Overview
Here is how you can build Sunday in HSR with his best Relics, Planar Ornaments, Stats, Light Cone and Teams:
- Relic: Sacerdos’ Relived Ordeal (4-piece)
- Planar Ornament: Lushaka, the Sunken Seas
- Main Stats: Crit Damage % (Body), Speed (Boots), HP % (Sphere), ERR % (Link Rope)
- Sub Stats: Crit Damage (200% or more) > Effect Resistance (50% or more) > HP% > Defense% > Speed (ideally above 134, but prioritize minus 1 speed from Main DPS)
- Light Cone: A Grounded Ascent (5-star), Past and Future (4-star)
- Team: Jingliu, Sunday, Tingyun, Huohuo
HSR Sunday Build: Best Relics
- Sacerdos’ Relived Ordeal (4-piece)
- Eagle of Twilight Line (4-piece)
The 4-piece Sacerdos’ Relived Ordeal is the best Relic set for Sunday. This is currently the best Support Relic set in the game, giving 6% increased Speed and increasing the Crit Damage of an ally by 18% per stack (max 2 stacks), for 2 turns when that the wearer uses their Skill or Ultimate on that target. With his Skill already increasing the Crit Damage of allies, having an additional boost of this range is a massive upgrade for Sunday.
Other than that, you can also use the 4-piece Eagle of Twilight Line if you have really bad stats on the Sacerdos’ set. This set allows more turn from Sunday, which also means more turns from your main DPS.
HSR Sunday Build: Best Planar Ornaments
- Lushaka, the Sunken Seas
- Broken Keel
- Sprightly Vonwacq
Lushaka, the Sunken Seas is the best Planar Ornament for Sunday in Honkai Star Rail. This Planar Ornament increases the Energy Regeneration rate of the wearer by 5%. Further, this set also increases the Attack of the first character in the team lineup by 12%.
The Broken Keel Planar Ornament is another good option for Sunday, as it increases the Crit Damage of all allies by 10%, as long as Sunday has more the 30% Effect Resistance. Other than that, you can also pick Sprightly Vonwacq, which also increases Sunday’s energy regeneration, while also action forwarding him at the start of the battle by 40% when his speed is 120 or higher.
Main and Sub Stats for Sunday
Relics | Main / Sub-Stat |
---|---|
Head | HP / Crit Damage > Effect Resistance > HP% > Defense% > Speed |
Hands | Attack / Crit Damage > Effect Resistance > HP% > Defense% > Speed |
Body | Crit Damage / Effect Resistance > HP% > Defense% > Speed |
Feet | Speed / Crit Damage > Effect Resistance > HP% > Defense% > Speed |
Planar Sphere | HP % = Defense % / Crit Damage > Effect Resistance > HP% > Defense% > Speed |
Link Rope | ERR % / Crit Damage > Effect Resistance > HP% > Defense% > Speed |
For Sunday’s Relic stats, prioritize hitting 200% or more Crit Damage. Although Sunday is a support unit, his kit is based on buffing his allies based on his Crit Damage. Other than that, try to reach 50% of more Effect Resistance and 134 Speed Breakpoint.
One thing to remember when it comes to Speed is to always have 1 Speed point less than the Main DPS in the team. This way Sunday will take action right after your main DPS, giving your Main DPS two turns in a row. Dump everything else on his HP% and Defense to increase his survivability.
For his main stats, pick a Crit Damage body, Speed boots, HP% Planar Sphere and Energy Regeneration Link Rope.
Best Light Cones for Sunday Build in HSR
- A Grounded Ascent
- Past and Future
- Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds
- Planetary Rendezvous
- Chorus
Harmony units don’t have many great Light Cones and that is also true for Sunday. His best Light Cone option is A Grounded Ascent, which is his 5-star Signature Light Cone. Other than that, you can always use Past and Future, which is his 4-star best option. If you have neither, then use Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds instead.
If the Main DPS in your team is a Imaginary type, then you can also use Planetary Rendezvous, but that’s the only case for this Light Cone. Finally, the 3-star Light Cone Chorus is the best F2P option you can get.

Best Sunday Teams in Honkai Star Rail
Order | Main DPS | Support | Support | Sustain |
---|---|---|---|---|
Best | Jingliu | Sunday | Tingyun | Huohuo |
Alternative | Jing Yuan | Sunday | Robin | Aventurine |
Alternative | Argenti | Sunday | Tingyun | Huohuo |
F2P | Herta | Sunday | Hunt March 7th | Gallagher |
The best team for Sunday will be a Hypercarry team, particularly teams characters who are really dependent on their Ultimate. Argenti, Jingliu, and Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae would get the most benefit from Sunday. Other than that, DPS units with summons like Jing Yuan, as well as the future Remembrance greatly benefit from Sunday in the team.
When it comes to Supports, Robin is a great option for Sunday teams. A great thing about Sunday is that he also enables dual DPS teams. For Sustains, you can Huohuo or Lingsha. Huohuo will give Sunday additional energy, which means more energy for the main DPS.
For his F2P teams, pair Sunday with Hunt March 7th, Herta, and Gallagher to create a team. You can also replace March 7th with Tingyun if you want, as her Ultimate will be quite useful to the Main DPS.
