Epic Removes ‘The Infinity Blade’ from Fortnite and Agrees That It ‘Messed Up’

Fortnite Swords

Earlier this week, a brand new weapon called The Infinity Blade arrived in Fortnite Battle Royale breathing a new life into the game. However, Epic has now announced that it’s removing the weapon from the game following widespread criticism over the blade being overpowered.

If you managed to get your hands on this blade in the game, then you probably already know that it was pretty much the most powerful weapon in the game. There were no good counters for it, and it was grossly overpowered. I mean, being a mythic item is one thing, and being to able to one-hit any opponent is completely different.

Well, it took Epic some time to draw this conclusion, but it has finally decided to remove the item from the game. In a tweet announcing the weapon’s departure, Epic said, “We messed up and rolled out the Infinity Blade overpowered / without good counters, especially in the end game,” Epic wrote. “The Infinity Blade has been Vaulted and we are re-evaluating our approach to Mythic items. Thanks for calling us out on this!”

As you can see, Epic said it’s “re-evaluating” its approach to the Mythic items. So it is hard to tell whether or not the weapon will make a comeback in the future. However, I am sure Epic had a few other Mythic items in the pipeline, which will now be re-evaluated to make it a usable item in the game.

I really hope Epic makes more considerable weapons in the future, which, in my opinion, is very crucial for a game that’s planning to enter the competitive eSports scene. Anyway, what are your thoughts on the Infinity Blade being removed from the game? Let us know by dropping a comment down below.
