After the success gained by Dune: Part One, Dune 2 continues the tale exactly where it left off in the first part. Dune: Part Two is easily one of the most anticipated movies of 2024 and follows the story of Paul Atreides on a path to extract vengeance from the people responsible for his family’s fall, along with Chani and Fremen. This much-awaited sequel brings us certain faces we have seen before in the franchise and some new ones. So, learn about Dune 2 cast members and their roles in the sequel.

1. Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides
Timothée Chalamet is making a return as Duke Paul Atreides, the heir of House Atreides who now lives among the Fremen after escaping the ambush by the house of Harkonnen. He falls in love with a girl named Chani.
In the lore of Dune, Atreides is thought to be a messianic figure who can look into the memories of his ancestors. In Dune 2, we will get to see Atreides lead the Fremen in a revolution taking a stand against a common enemy.
2. Zendaya as Chani
Chani, played by Zendaya, is a young girl among the Fremen of Arrakis. She is a gifted and fierce warrior who has developed an affection towards Atreides.
Even though Chani and Paul gradually develop a romantic relationship, she is still skeptical about Atreides thinking of him to be attempting to gain control over the Fremen.
3. Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica
Lady Jessica played by Rebecca Ferguson is the mother of Paul Atreides and sister of the Bene Gesserit order. After the fall of the House of Atreides, Jessica drank the Water of Life, and she became a Reverend Mother among the Ferman.
Lady Jessica plays a major role in Dune: Part Two because of her prophecies that helped Atreides gain the support and faith of the Fremen to launch a revolution.
4. Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck
Gurney Halleck, played by Josh Brolin, is one of the lead characters of the Dune franchise. He was the Weapons Master of the House of Atreides and was also one of the mentors of Paul. After the House of Atreides was taken down, he was one of the few survivors of Duke Leto’s court.
Dune 2 will see him joining forces with Paul and the Fremen to take revenge on those who killed their people.
5. Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen
Among the cast of Dune 2, Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen is the lead antagonist of the movie and Austin Butler shouldered the mantle of this role. He is the adopted heir to Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, the man responsible for the fall of the House of Atreides.
Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen did not feature in Dune: Part One but is expected to play the role of a villain in the second part of the franchise.
6. Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan Corrino
Princess Irulan Corrino, played by Florence Pugh, is the daughter of Emperor Shaddam IV Corrino. She is trained well in the ways of Bene Gesserit. In the Dune novels, she is the chronicler who narrates the historical background and offers perspective to readers. Now, let’s see how the dynamic of her live-action adaptation works out in Dune 2.
7. Christopher Walken as Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV Corrino
Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV Corrino, played by Christopher Walken, is the one who facilitated the fall of House Atreides. His hunger for power led him to join forces with House Harkonnen.
In Dune: Part One, he provided Sardaukar troops to kill the Atreides in the House of Harkonnen. In the second movie, we might get to see him reap the consequences of his actions at the hands of Paul and his allies.
8. Souheila Yacoub as Shishakli
Shishakli, in the Dune novels, is a male character who has been gender-swapped, and Souheila Yacoub is joining the Dune 2 cast as this character. In the novels, Shishakli is a male member of the Fremen tribe. In the movie adaptation, the character is a female and a close friend of Chani.
9. Dave Bautista as Count Glossu Rabban
Count Glossu Rabban is the older nephew of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen. He is a merciless and grateful combatant which got him the title of “Beast.” He lets all hell loose on the Atreides and plays a major role in the fall of the House of Atreides. After Paul and Jessica were presumed to be dead, he was made in charge of the spice harvest on Arrakis.
10. Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot Fenring
Lady Margot Fenring, played by Léa Seydoux, is the wife of Count Hasimir Fenring who is a close friend of Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV Corrino. Lady Margot did not appear in Dune: Part One, but she possesses certain unique abilities because of her Bene Gesserit training in the Dune novels. It is also hinted throughout the novel that she might be involved in a secret conspiracy of her own.
11. Charlotte Rampling as Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam
Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam played by Charlotte Rampling is a truth sayer to the emperor and practically the leader of Bene Gesserit. She has also been a formative presence in the life of Jessica, Paul’s mother, and will be Princess Irulan Corrino’s tutor in Dune: Part Two.
12. Stellan Skarsgård as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen
After barely surviving an assassination orchestrated by the now-dead Duke Leto Atreides, Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, played by Stellan Skarsgård, will try to gain control over the House of Harkonnen on Arrakis and beyond by pushing his heir and nephew Feyd-Rautha to do that for him.
13. Javier Bardem as Stilgar
Stilgar played by Javier Bardem is the leader of the Fremen tribe. Dune 2 will see him become a major ally to Paul to fight for revolution as he believes him to be the Lisan al Ghaib, the one who will deliver freedom to his people.
14. Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides
It has been confirmed that Anya Taylor-Joy has joined the Dune 2 cast, and her character will bring a major twist to the story in the sequel. Taylor-Joy is set to appear as Alia Atreides, Paul’s sister and Jessica’s daughter. Taking a major turn from the novel, Paul is shown to have a vision that Alia is all grown up. This event does not occur in the novels.
