20 Cutest Pokemon of All Time (Ranked)

Who doesn’t love Pokemon right? Those cute chubby monsters. However, even there we can all agree not all Pokemon are born equally cute. There was also a running joke in the anime where some Pokemon trainer never evolved their Pokemon over how cute they looked. Well, I have some choices about the cutest Pokemon so decided to sit and rank them down. So with that, let’s talk about the cutest Pokemon right here.

20. Torchic

Element: Fire-type

My opening choice for the cutest Pokemon is Torchic, a fire Pokemon that looks like a small chicken. A quite popular Pokemon from the anime, Torchic, is popular among fans for its cute demeanor. And I don’t blame them; little chickens are cute. The best part is that Torchic, as a whole, is a good Pokemon to have on your team. So, if you encounter one, add them.

19. Togepi

Element: Fairy-type

Misty’s Togepi from Pokemon anime is as popular as Ash’s Pikachu and Rock’s Onyx. However, Togepi is also well-known for being the cutest out of the bunch because of her demeanor. Acting like a kid, Togepi is a fairy Pokemon with some essential skills but nothing too extreme.

I don’t have to comment on its cuteness, as when this Pokemon was introduced in the anime, it temporarily stopped the fight between Ash and Team Rocket through its cuteness.

18. Chikorita

Element: Grass-type

While Bayleef and Meganium are two ferocious Pokemon, their original form, Chikorita, managed to capture everyone’s heart when they were introduced in the anime. A grass-type Pokemon, Chikorita is one cute Pokemon that may take you quite far as your main in the Pokemon games.

17. Shinx

Element: Electric-type

The original form of Luxio, Shinx is another adorable cat-like Pokemon with one of the prettiest eyes in the games. First introduced in the fourth generation game, Shinx will melt your heart at first glance. I think it already did when the Pokemon was introduced in the anime. And the introduction has remained in my mind. I might not remember the name, but I do remember Shinx.

16. Sylveon

Element: Fairy-type

When Eevee was introduced to the games, Eevee evolutions came with it. There are eight different forms of evolution, most of which lean towards being cool and edgy—except one, Sylveon.

Sylveon is a pink Pokemon with a high friendship rating by default. So if your Eevee evolves to this form, you’ll have one of the cutest Pokemon friends with you.

15. Purrloin

Element: Dark-type

If I had the opportunity, I probably would’ve filled this entire list with cat-like Pokemon, excluding some. However, if it is a list of cutest Pokemon, I am certainly not missing out on Purrlion. A dark-type Pokemon, Purrlion certainly looks like a naughty one and almost looks identical to a real-life cat.

However, besides that mischievousness, Purrlion is a cute Pokemon. It’s not as pretty as previous entries, but it’s adorable.

14. Luxio

Element: Electric-type

The evolved form of a Shinx, Luxio, is particularly ferocious. They are giant cat-like Pokemon that walk on all fours. Furthermore, Luxio is enormous, almost as large as Ash in Pokemon.

You’ve also probably seen this electric type in the anime with Ash Ketchum. But, besides that ferocity, Luxio is a cute furball with a knack for shocking their enemies. Quite literally, perhaps.

13. Dedenne

Element: Electric/Fairy-type

Rodents are always cute, regardless of what type they are. And Dedenne is yet another rodent in the Pokemon world many might call the cutest. It is an electric-fairy-type Pokemon, which takes a lot of inspiration from the real-world Hamster for its looks.

While you might not use Dedenne in your party, it is one Pokemon worth adding to your Pokedex if you are looking for a cute Pokemon. Nothing gets more adorable than these

12. Pawmo

Element: Fighting/Electric-type

An electric-fighting-type Pokemon, Pawmo is a tiny bear-red panda-inspired monster that is highly adorable at first glance. It has tiny feet and hands and will immediately melt your heart at first glance.

However, don’t let their looks fool you, as Pawmo will annihilate their opponents through fights and electricity. Fun fact – Pawmo’s previous form, Pawmi, and its evolved form, Pawmot, also deserves a place on this list.

11. Mew

Element: Psychic-type

Some might argue that Mew is a psychic Pokemon, and its fan following is similar to that of Eevee and Pikachu. I say that all three Pokemon are equally famous for various reasons. This little cat-like Pokemon is one of the legendaries from the original game.

Mew and Mewtwo were two of the most sought-after Pokemon in the game, becoming much more popular after their dedicated movie launched. This by far makes them one of the cutest Pokemon.

10. Spheal

Element: Ice/Water-type

I have an uncontrollable love for seals in real life. I’ve spent over 50 hours once creating a Seal and Seal-lion reserve in Planet Zoo . So it shouldn’t be a surprise when I add the cutest Pokemon Spheal to this list.

It is an ice-water-type Pokemon that looks cute. And if you’ve watched the anime, you’ll probably also recognize this one. Spheal was the Spotlight Hour Pokemon this week in Pokemon GO.

9. Makuhita

Element: Fighting-type

We’ve previously covered Makuhita when the Pokemon was part of a Spotlight Hour in Pokemon GO. So, if you play the game regularly, chances are you know why I’ve added this Pokemon.

Makuhita is fighting Pokemon and added to the game with the third-generation game, so while it looks cute, it also packs a punch during fights.

8. Gastly

Element: Ghost/Poison Pokemon.

Some might question me about adding Gastly to this list. And I agree, he isn’t that much of a cute Pokemon out of everyone else. However, I have a weird likeness to this Pokemon from the old anime, primarily because of the eyes. Gastly is a ghost poison type, so you know they’ll be helpful in fights.

7. Jigglypuff

Element: Normal/Fairy

Any 90s kid growing up watching Pokemon anime should’ve seen this entry from miles away. One of the comedic reliefs in the anime, Jigglypuff, is a normal-fairy-type Pokemon and somehow the most popular and cutest. However, looks can deceive, as Jigglypuff’s skills are a great support tool during fights. Just don’t fall asleep to her though.

6. Pichu

Element: Electric-type

A predecessor to Pikachu, Pichu is the unevolved form belonging to the Electric-type category. It is shorter than Pikachu but shares the cuteness factor with the Pokemon. Pichu also looks distinct through its ears, which have a diamond shape compared to Pikachu’s long-leaf design.

But both Pokemon share their electricity skills for the most part and are definitely one of the cutest Pokemon in the universe.

5. Growlithe

Element: Fire/Rock-type

A Pokemon who looks like a mix between Fox and Tiger, Growlithe is widely considered one of the preferred early-game fire Pokemon to add to your team. And for reasonable measures, seeing how most of their skills are helpful in fights. And, when you keep their fighting spirit aside, you cannot ignore how this is one of the cutest Pokemon in-game.

4. Hoppip

Element: Grass-type

I have quite a lot of Hoppip in my Pokemon GO inventory. However, I’ve never been annoyed by the appearance of this Pokemon. Instead, I’ve always looked forward to Hoppip’s appearance because they are one of the cutest Pokemon in-game. Hoppip is a grass-type Pokemon added to the series during the second generation of games. And their evolved forms are equally cute too.

3. Bulbasaur

Element: Grass-type

One of the three-gen-1 starter Pokemon, Bulbasaur, is this amphibian with a large flower bulb on its back. Anyone who’s seen the Pokemon anime will remember this one, partly because of its cuteness.

While being a formidable opponent on-screen, Bulbasaur always had this cute, dog-like demeanor against their trainer and fellow Pokemon. For these reasons and more, this cute Pokemon is in our top three.

2. Eevee

Element: Normal-type

Another entry that shouldn’t surprise any Pokemon fans: Eevee is a normal-type Pokemon that looks like a mix between a Fox and a Cat. This Pokemon is rather naughty and has various evolution forms, some of which have also been featured in this list. I’d even go out of my way to confirm that Eevee is one of my favorite Pokemon in the series, and part of the reason is their cuteness.

1. Pikachu

Element: Electric-type

The most obvious and my top choice for the cutest Pokemon is Pikachu. An electric Pokemon, Pikachu packs quite a punch in its attacks, along with its cutesy looks. Eventually, this Pokemon became one of the official mascots for Pokemon and Nintendo, even becoming a pop-culture icon.

And these are the cutest Pokemon I feel everyone should know about. Making this list was hard, as there are more I wanted to include. That is where you guys come in! Let me know your favorite Pokemon we should’ve added to the list in the comments below.
