It’s not a surprise anymore. With the Assassin’s Creed Shadow’s trailer now out for everyone to see, gamers worldwide can’t wait for it. Besides all the pressing questions of whether AC Shadows require the internet to play, many are left wondering about the story’s protagonists. After all, everyone wants to play as both Yasuke and Naoe. If you’re one of the ones thinking if you can switch between characters in the game, keep reading as we answer that.

While you would think you’ll be forced to choose between one protagonist in the game, that’s not the case. Players can easily switch between Yasuke and Naoe in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This has already been on the game’s official website. Ubisoft players can “approach quests with whichever character you prefer.

The system will work like Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, where both characters have different play styles. This IGN-exclusive further corroborates these claims, confirming that the protagonists are interchangeable. Not only that, but both the characters have separate skills and playstyles that give them their personality.

One of the protagonists in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Naoe, will focus on her Shinobi roots. As such, players can experience the classic Assassin gameplay from her. This means the usage of the assassin’s hidden blade, kunai, etc. You can enjoy parkour and even use a helpful grappling hook for traversals. Naoe’s gameplay is focused more on the series’ legacy, embracing the stealth gameplay.

Similarly, Yasuke will embrace his retainer status of Oda Nobunaga and don Samurai armor and a Katana. Hence, his playstyle will pivot towards being loud. I think seeing two guards fling across a room through a door in the trailer made that clear. Yasuke will also get to wield various weapons and rely on frontal attacks.

So now you know that you can play as both Yasku and Naoe in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Are you excited enough to pre-order the game? Let us know in the comments below!
