Assassin’s Creed Mirage Gets October Release Date

Assassin's Creed Mirage reducing notoriety

Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the next mainline entry in the long-running open-world action-adventure game by Ubisoft, finally gives us some more footage for the Baghdad-set title. And if that wasn’t enough, we finally have a release date for the upcoming title. Announced at the PlayStation Showcase, we got our first look at Assassin’s Creed Mirage gameplay and what to expect from it.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Returns to its Roots

The new Assassin’s Creed Mirage trailer follows Basim, guided by the fellow Hidden Ones, utilizing the tools and their skills to track down and kill his targets.

The trailer showcases Basim running on rooftops and walls of Baghdad in the classic Assassin’s Creed style. Here, Ubisoft claims that the character is one of the most agile and resourceful assassins in the franchise’s history. Furthermore, Bassim will also utilize stealth and deadly assassination techniques to take down his targets.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will feature new abilities for the character, such as the Assassin’s Focus, which allows him to mark and assassinate multiple enemies, a day-night cycle, a condensed experience of exploring ninth-century Baghdad, and much more. We also get a glimpse at a few characters that Basim will come across that will help him through his journey.

As per Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a love letter to the series, and particularly a “special tribute” to the first Assassin’s Creed. Ubisoft Bordeaux, responsible for creating Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Wrath of the Druid Expansion, is making the game. Additionally, the game will feature a narrative-driven action-adventure experience, with a modern take on the parkour, stealth, and assassination gameplay.

AC Mirage Launches this October

Finally, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will launch for PC via Epic Game Store, Ubisoft Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Amazon Luna on October 12, 2023 (unlike the leaked August launch date). The pre-orders for the game are now live, and pre-ordering will get players a bonus quest called The Forty Thieves.

No word on the Steam release yet, but if the current release trends of Ubisoft are to be followed, we expect the game to grace the platform in a year or two after its October launch.
