All the agents in Zenless Zone Zero are separated into four specialties — Impact, Attack, Support, and Anomaly. Pulling for the correct character and investing in them will save you in the long run. Best ZZZ SS Tier Characters
The SS-tier Agents in ZZZ are the absolute best characters in the game. All the SS-tier characters provide massive value to any team, irrespective of their agent type. These agents are fully capable of solo-clearing hollows with their best builds and are perfect picks for leaders in Shibuya Defense and other endgame modes.
Also, you will need a ton of polychromes before you can pull these characters. So, make sure to check the Zenless Zone Zero codes to earn some free polychromes.
Ye Shunguang
- Rarity: S-rank
- Attribute: Honed Edge
- Specialty: Attack
- Faction: Yunkui Summit
Ye Shunguang easily made her place into the SS-tier right after her release. She is an extremely strong DPS, with an absurd amount of Basic ATK damage when in the Enlightened Mind state. Her Ultimate is also very strong, and she is one of the easiest characters to play in Zenless Zone Zero. Ye Shunguang also gets Crit Rate from her kit, making it easy to build her.
Miyabi

- Faction: Section 6
Miyabi is by far the strongest DPS in Zenless Zone Zero at the moment. She is an Anomaly character that also deals a ton of burst damage, making her perfect for almost all scenarios. Miyabi is also one of the easiest characters to play in the game, as her playstyle revolves around her basic attack. What’s outright amazing about Miyabi is that she doesn’t require S-rank teammates to be good and has plenty of F2P characters in her possible team comps.
Yixuan

- Faction: Yunkui Summit
Like Miyabi, Yixuan is also an incredibly strong DPS character. She is on par with Miyabi with her best build, only falling short when compared in other parameters. Yixuan features both an extremely powerful EX Special Attack and Ultimate. She also scales on HP, making her very tanky. Another great thing about Yixiuan is that her teams are also F2P-friendly, making her a great pick for anyone.
Orphie & Magus

- Faction: Obol Squad
Orphie & Magus is an incredibly sub-DPS who can also provide really strong ATK buffs to the entire team. She is an off-field DPS, which makes her the perfect partner for any strong main DPS with the Fire element. Additionally, many of her attacks are considered aftershocks, which lead to insane damage buildup.
Vivian

- Faction: Obol Squad
Vivian is a strong Disorder damage dealer and one of the strongest sub DPS in the game. Her Guard Feathers allow her to deal off-field damage, and she comes with a really F2P-friendly W-Engine and team comps. Overall, Vivian is a powerful character and is worthy of her spot in the SS tier of the Zenless Zone Zero tier list.
Astra Yao

Astra Yao is arguably the best support in the game in the current ZZZ meta. She provides massive buffs from her core Skill and Special Attacks that can be game-changing for your team. She also introduces a new Chain Attack swap style that increases the damage output of the team by a lot. But that’s not all, Astra Yao’s Ultimate can also heal allies, which is a massive addition to have alongside her supports.
Dialyn

- Faction: Krampus Compliance Authority
Dialyn is another really strong support in Zenless Zone Zero. She increases the damage output of the entire team and has an incredible ability of enabling Ultimate of allies without using Decibels. She also gets additional Impact through Crit scaling, making her the perfect character to constantly stun the enemies.
Lucia

Lucia is another incredible support. She is particularly good alongside Rupture units as she can provide Sheer and DMG buffs. Her Ultimate can also heal allies, which makes her a complete support like Astra Yao. Other than that, Lucia is fairly F2P-friendly to build.
Yazuha

- Attribute: Physical

- Faction: Spook Shack
Yazuha is the perfect support for Anomaly and Disorder teams. She helps in increasing Attribute Anomaly and Disorder DMG. Alongside that, she can also buff the entire party’s ATK and the build-up rate of Anomaly. Yazuha also helps in restoring Energy for her teams, and she is also very easy to play.
Best ZZZ S Tier Characters
The S-tier Agents in ZZZ are among the best characters and not far behind SS-tier characters. They can easily be equal to them when in a synergized team and with the correct builds. Here are all the characters in the S tier.
Zhao
- Rarity: S-rank
- Attribute: Ice
- Specialty: Defense
- Faction: Krampus Compliance
Zhao is the first Defense specialty character to make her place in the S-tier. She is a strong support character who can also be used as a main DPS. Her Special Attack provides healing, and her Ether Veil buffs ATK for all allies. She is very versatile and can slot herself into all Attack and Anomaly teams. The best part about it all, she is a free character!
Alice Thymefield

- Faction: Spook Shack
Alice Thymefield is a strong DPS unit who can trigger the Assault reaction frequently. But what makes her stand out is her ability to trigger the Disorder reaction with other Physical Attribute Anomalies. She is also fairly easy to use, as her Special Attacks give extra dodges that can help you avoid enemy attacks. Overall, she is a really strong DPS and perfect for the S tier in our Zenless Zone Zero tier list.
Anby Soldier 0

- Faction: Silver Squad
Anby is one of the most popular characters in the game, and Anby Soldier Zero is her new S-Rank form that has some incredible damage output potential. She is very fast and mobile, and her abilities are fairly straightforward to use. Her main damage output comes from her EX Special Attack, while White Thunder is fully stacked. Anby Soldier O’s overall damage output is very high, and she only needs a Stun or Support agent alongside her to activate her additional ability.
Evelyn Chevalier

- Specialty: Attack
- Faction: Stars of Lyra
Evelyn is another incredibly strong main DPS who was once considered the best damage dealer. Although times have changed, she continues to be an incredibly strong character. She is primarily a Chain Attack damage dealer, and her abilities are perfect for grouping up small enemies. Overall, she continues to be a strong DPS in ZZZ, but is not worthy of the SS tier spot.
Seed

Seed is a mix of a DPS and a Support character. She has very high basic attack damage and can buff the Attack unit’s ATK and Crit DMG. Her attack animations are also hard to interrupt, making her perfect for seamless action.
Tsukishiro Yanagi
- Rarity: S-rank
- Attribute: Electric
- Specialty: Anomaly
- Faction: Section 6
Tsukishiro Yanagi is one of the strongest DPS in the game with a very high Disorder DMG. She particularly synergizes well with Anomaly units, and her EX Special Attack does not require much energy. However, Yanagi is quite hard to play, which is why we have placed her in the S-tier.
Yidhari Murphy

- Attribute: Ice
- Specialty: Rupture
- Faction: Spook Shack
Yidhari is an S-rank character with the Rupture specialty, and she is a particularly good damage mitigator. Her self-sustaining ability through her attacks makes her stand out among the rest, and with the ability to negate damage on top of that, makes her incredibly strong.
Ju Fufu
- Rarity: S-rank
- Attribute: Fire
- Specialty: Stun
- Faction: Yunkui Summit
Ju Fufu is one of the best Stun characters in the game, and she can also deal a ton of damage. Her off-field chain attack allows her to inflict daze. She also buffs Crit DMG, chain attacks, and Ultimate, which makes her very strong. Overall, Ju Fufu is a solid character that you shouldn’t overlook.
Lighter
- Rarity: S-rank
- Attribute: Fire
- Specialty: Stun
- Faction: Yunkui Summit
Lighter is one of my favorite characters in Zenless Zone Zero. He is one of the best Stun characters in the game and is a massive asset to Fire and Ice teams. His strong stun ability can keep enemies in perma stun when played correctly. Lighter’s only downside is that he needs only the best DPS units in his team to function properly.
Nicole Demara
- Rarity: A-rank
- Attribute: Ether
- Specialty: Support
- Faction: Cunning Hares AKA Gentle House
Nicole Demara is one of the few A-rank agents in the S-tier, and she is one of the best supports in the game. She has really strong crowd control abilities and can reduce the defense of enemies with her attacks. What’s amazing is that she is a free character in the game.
Soukaku
- Rarity: A-rank
- Attribute: Ice
- Specialty: Support
- Faction: Section 6
Soukaku is also a really strong character and another A-rank agent in the S-tier. She can give a universal ATK buff and can also increase the next party member’s damage. Soukaku can also consistently freeze enemies and buff Ice damage for allies, which is why she is in the S tier of our Zenless Zone Zero tier list.
Trigger

- Specialty: Stun
- Faction: Obol Squad
Trigger is also an amazing stun character in Zenless Zone Zero. She can build long-range Daze with her Sniping ability, and she can use Aftershock on enemies while off-field. She is easily the best character when it comes to stunning with ease, but that’s about it for her, which is why he placed in S-tier.
Best ZZZ A Tier Characters
The A-tier Agents in ZZZ are some of the best characters for their respective team positions. These characters are best for filling specific positions in a team. They provide a lot of value when picked in the correct team, increasing the damage output by a lot.
Banyue
- Rarity: S-rank
- Attribute: Fire
- Specialty: Rupture
- Faction: Krampus Compliance Authority
Banyue is a really strong DPS character with a really high damage output. He can also parry on his own, giving him really high sustaining abilities. However, Banyue is quite hard to play, and you need to fulfill many conditions mid-fight to execute his combos properly.
Hugo
- Rarity: S-rank
- Attribute: Ice
- Specialty: Attack
- Faction: Mockingbird
Hugo is another good DPS and Sub DPS character. He has a really strong EX Special Attack and Ultimate, and can buff his own stats. Overall, he is a really good character, but requires a ton of Crit stat to deal damage. Also, enemies have to get stunned, or else his damage is reduced significantly.
Jane Doe
- Rarity: S-rank
- Attribute: Physical
- Specialty: Anomaly
- Faction: Criminal Investigation Special Response Team
Jane Doe is one of the popular characters in the game, and she deals a fair amount of damage. Her playstyle is very mobile, and I personally love it. She also has a high Assault DMG that can crit, and her Ultimate can crowd-control enemies. However, she is ranked lower because Jane Doe is basically useless against enemies without an Anomaly meter.
Komano Manato
- Rarity: A-rank
- Attribute: Fire
- Specialty: Rupture
- Faction: Spook Shack
Komano Manato is probably one of the strongest A-Rank DPS units in the game. He can massively increase his own damage output by buffing his Crit Rate and has really strong self-sustaining abilities. Overall, he is a good pick if you don’t have a good Fire DPS.
Piper
- Rarity: A-rank
- Attribute: Physical
- Specialty: Anomaly
- Faction: Sons of Calydon
Piper is another A-rank character who is very good. She is a good sub-DPS who can increase her own Anomaly buildup with her EX Special Attack and Ultimate. She can increase her party’s damage while reducing the damage she takes from enemies. All of this makes her perfect for the A tier in our Zenless Zone Zero tier list.
Best ZZZ B Tier Characters
The B-tier Agents in ZZZ are the agents that only work in very specific roles. These characters lack the strength to be leaders and solo carry teams. However, they can provide decent value to many teams when their synergy is taken into account.
These characters are mainly useful for very specific roles, and some of them like Ben Bigger, don’t have much use at the launch of the game but might become more influential in the future.
These characters still have a role to play in the Zenless Zone Zero game mode, as they feature players like Zhu Yuan, Burnice White, and Von Lycaon. These characters are really good, and they were only dropped to the B tier due to them being good only in specific scenarios.
Best ZZZ C Tier Characters
The C-tier Agents in ZZZ are characters that are best used in the early game. These characters don’t provide a lot of value and are easily replaceable even in their best teams. Do not heavily invest in these characters, and simply use them in the early part of the game until you pull better characters.
This tier is made up of characters like Lucy, Rina, Nekomata, and Anton, all of whom were considered good at one time. Now, you shouldn’t waste your resources on them in Zenless Zone Zero.
Best ZZZ D Tier Characters
The D-tier Agents in ZZZ are the absolute worst characters in the game and can be replaced with any other character. Characters like Ben, Billy, and Seth are currently the weakest characters in Zenless Zone Zero. You will only find them useful in the early game, and even then, some of the above characters would be better suited.
