Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 Launched in India For Rs 13,990: Powered by Exynos 7 Octa

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 Quietly Launched in India Priced at Rs. 13,990

Samsung has launched an updated version of the mid-range Galaxy J7 Prime smartphone, dubbed the Galaxy J7 Prime 2. The phone is already listed on Samsung’s India website. The Galaxy J7 Prime 2 is equipped with a 5.5-inch FHD display with Gorilla Glass on top and a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button.

Interestingly, the device is equipped with an Exynos 7 Octa (7870) chipset clocked at 1.6Ghz with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Performance should be pretty good with that combo.  The internal storage can be further expanded up to 256 GB via a microSD card. A 3,300 mAh battery powers the device that is claimed to provide up to 21 hours of talk time on 3G and approximately 14 hours of video playback time.

In the imaging department, the Galaxy J7 Prime 2 features a 13MP primary camera with f/1.9 aperture, while another 13MP sensor is on the front side to handle selfies, along with a selfie flash. The camera app has support for Samsung’s Social Camera tool, which brings effects like Live Stickers and Live Filters for taking photos with instant editing effects.

Like the Galaxy On7 Prime, the J7 Prime 2 comes with Samsung Mall with support for camera-based searching and shopping. You can search and shop for things like fashion accessories, gadgets and other items by clicking a photo.

The device also comes with support for Smart Switch PC sync feature as well as Samsung Pay Mini digital payment service for users in India. As for color options, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 will be available in Champagne Gold and Black shades, however, only the latter option is currently listed on Samsung’s website.

The device is currently listed as ‘Sold Out’ on the website carrying a price tag of Rs 13,990, but we think that’s a mistake. Samsung has not detailed the availability details of the device yet, so it’s unlikely to be out of stock, but we will let you know when it’s available at retailers.
