How to Find Caves in LEGO Fortnite

LEGO Fortnite is all about building, crafting, and exploring. All those things are interconnected as you need to find new things to build or upgrade better equipment. Caves are one of the important places you have to explore for important resources. We spent hours exploring our world and have created this guide to help you find caves in LEGO Fortnite.

How to Find the Caves in LEGO Fortnite

LEGO Fortnite worlds are randomly generated and different from one another. So, the location of the caves will be different for everyone. That is why we can’t share a definite location for where you can find caves in this game. However, you can identify the caves easily from a fair distance.

Caves entrance in LEGO Fortnite can be found in between some odd-looking boulders. These rocks look different than your regular granites and cannot be broken. These rocks also form a dome-like shape which you can spot even from a decent distance away.

Once you spot a cave, go towards it to find the entrance. After spotting the entrance, go towards it and press the interact button (E on PC, Square on PS4/5, X on Xbox, and Y button on Nintendo Switch). This will start an animation, and you will end up in the cave after that.

Once you enter the cave, you will notice a new cave marker on your map. This marker will stay on your map and will help you spot caves you have already explored around your LEGO Fortnite world. As some of the resources replenish in caves, you can always use the cave marker on your map to find the old caves and revisit them.

Importance of Caves in LEGO Fortnite

Caves are important in the game as they provide you with a lot of essential resources. The resources change as the cave location changes. However, you can find knotroot and Marble in the Grasslands caves. You will also find Slurp Mushroom in these caves.

On the other hand, you can find other types of resources such as Obsidian in Ice and Lava caves. All the resources found in these caves help you upgrade your tools and even craft items to upgrade your village level.

Apart from uncommon and rare finds lying around the walls, you will also find treasure chests scattered around the caves in LEGO Fortnite. These chests contain decent loot and sometimes you can find some rare items inside them. The loot inside the chests can often be food that will help you in case your hunger level goes down during the exploration of the caves.

The chests will never restock once you empty them down. So, revisiting the caves will not replenish the treasure chests, only the resources.

Things You Should Bring to a Cave

Now that you know where to find caves and how to enter them, you will need some specific tools to explore them. Before you enter a cave, make sure you have friends with you. In case you are playing alone, bring your village companions with you. They will help you fight mobs and farm resources inside the cave.

You will also need a torch as the cave can be quite dark. If you’re visiting caves to gather resources such as knotroot or marble, you will need an uncommon or rare Forest axe and Pickaxe (we suggest bringing multiple axes). Remember that any uncommon or rare resource cannot be destroyed using common tools.

However, with all these tools, you will still find it hard to explore the caves if you do not fight the enemy mobs inside. That is why bringing a sword is a must with you.
