Dr. Ratio is an S-tier DPS character in the game with a strong single-target damage focus with strong Follow-up attacks. Who is Dr. Ratio in Honkai Star Rail

Dr. Ratio is a member of the Intelligentsia guild and is described as candid and self-centered. The Intelligentsia guild is known for collecting and trading knowledge across the universe.

Dr. Ratio Release Date and Upcoming Banners

Dr. Ratio was released on January 17th, 2024, in the 2nd phase of Honkai Star Rail’s 1.6 update. In addition to Dr. Ratio, Honkai Star Rail 1.6 banners featurs Sushang, Natasha, and Hook.

But what turns out to be the biggest update about this new 5-star character is that Honkai Star Rail is also giving a free copy of Dr. Ratio with the release of his banner, so you don’t need to invest any Stellar Jades to pull for him. Here is how you can get Dr. Ratio for free.

Dr. Ratio’s Kit and Cycle Rotation (At Max Level)

Dr. Ratio is still in the beta state. His kit has been updated multiple times and will continue to update as we get closer to his official release. We are constantly updating the Dr. Ratio kit information with the latest leaks so you can have the most up-to-date information.

• Mind is Might (Basic Attack): Deals imaginary damage up to 130% of his Attack to a single enemy.

• Intellectual Midwifery (Skill): Deals Imaginary Damage up to 150% of his Attack to a Single enemy.

• Syllogistic Paradox (Ultimate): Deals Imaginary damage up to 288% of his Attack to a single enemy and marks them. The attack of allies on the marked enemy will trigger follow-up attacks from Dr. Ratio’s Talent (up to 2 times).

• Cognito, Ergo Sum (Talent): Dr. Ratio has a 40% fixed chance to launch a follow-up attack when he uses his skill. Follow-up attacks triggered by his talent will also deal imaginary damage up to 270% of his attack. The fixed chance increases by 20% for each debuff placed on the enemy. If the target is defeated before the follow-up attack is triggered, the follow-up attack is moved to a random enemy.
• Mold of Idolatry (Technique): It creates a special dimension that taunts enemies, lasting for 10 seconds. After entering the battles, all enemies’ Speed is reduced by 15% for 2 turns.

Dr. Ratio’s kit is heavily Follow-up attack specific, and the number of Follow-up attacks increases based on the debuffs applied to the enemies. This is why you need to apply as many debuffs as you can before Dr. Ratio can take his turn and use his skill. His ideal cycle rotation should be:

Best Dr. Ratio Build: Relics, Planar Ornaments & Sub Stats

Dr. Ratio has a good damage kit, but you need to have the correct Relics to get the best out of him. Here are the best Cavern Relics, Planar Ornaments, and Main and Sub Stats for the best Dr. Ratio build.

Dr. Ratio Cavern Relics

• 4-piece The Ash Blazing Grand Duke (Best for Dr. Ratio)
• 4-piece Wastelander of Banditry Desert (Additional Imaginary damage and Crit Rate and Damage increase against debuffed enemies)

Dr. Ratio’s kit essentially rotates around his Follow-up attacks. With the 4-piece The Ash Blazing Grand Duke, you can continue buffing his Follow-up attacks, increasing his overall damage output per cycle.

You can also use the 4-piece Wastelander of Banditry Desert for a flat Imaginary damage increase. It also adds Crit Rate and Crit Damage based on the debuffed enemies, which will be Dr. Ratio’s main play.

Dr. Ratio Planar Ornaments

• 2-piece Talia: Celestial Differentiator (Best for Dr. Ratio)
• 2-piece Space Sealing Station (Buffs attack, easy to get speed threshold)
• 2-piece Pan Cosmic Commercial Enterprise (Buffs attack and will make it easier to debuff enemies)

The 2-piece Talia: Celestial Differentiator is going to flat increase his Crit damage, as long as you can meet the threshold. If you don’t meet the threshold, then use the 2-piece Space Sealing Station or the 2-piece Pan Cosmic Commercial Enterprise to buff his attack.

Best Main and Sub Stats

For his main and sub stats, try to stack as much Crit Damage, Attack%, and Crit Rate on him. He is going to be a DPS, so you need to maximize his damage output from his follow-up attacks. Speed is also very important for Dr. Ratio. Reaching the 134 speed breakpoint is a must, and you should adding speed in sub-stats to get the most out of the best Dr. Ratio build.

Light Cones for Best Dr. Ratio Build

As Dr. Ratio is a Hunt character, he has some really good choices for Light Cones. To create the best Dr. Ratio build, you need to select the correct ones. Let’s take a look at some of his best Light Cones.

• Baptism of Pure Thought (Signature Light Cone): It flatly increases the Crit Damage by 20% and, additionally, for every debuff on the enemy target, increases 6% Crit damage (up to 3 stacks). When the character uses Ultimate to attack an enemy, their Damage increase by 36%, and their follow-up attacks ignore 20% of the target’s Defense, lasting for 2 turns.
• Worrisome Blissful (Best Alternative): It flatly increases Crit Rate by 18% and Follow-up attack damage by 30%. Dr. Ratio Eidolons in Honkai Star Rail

• Calamity of Arrogance (E1): Gets 2 Stacks for each buff in the Talent at the start of the battle. The Talen buff stack also increases by 2, and duration increases by 1 turn.
• Minuscule Yet Profound (E2): When a follow-up attack from his talent hits the enemies, it deals additional Imaginary damage equal to 20% of Dr. Ratio’s Attack for every debuff on the target. It can be triggered 4 times during each follow-up attack.
• Know Thyself (E3): Ultimate Level +2 up to Level 15 and Basic Attack Level + 1, up to Level 10.
• With Ignorance Comes Folly (E4): He gains 3 additional energy each time a buff is received after using his skill.
• Adrift in Vastness (E5): Skill Level +2 up to Level 15 and Talent Level + 2, up to Level 15.
• The Truth Eternal E6): The Wiseman’s Folly trigger effect increases by 1. Damage from Follow-up attacks update triggering Wiseman’s folly increases by 50%.

His Eidolons are decent but not worth enough to pull for the E6. You can try for his E1, but anything more is not worth it.

• Summation (Ascension 2): Dr. Ratio’s Crit Rate increases by 2.5% and Crit Damage increases by 5%, for every debuff on the target after Dr. Ratio uses his Skill.
• Inference (Ascension 4): When Skill is used to attack an enemy, reduce the target’s Effect Resistance by 10% for 2 turns.
• Deduction (Ascension 6): Dr. Ratio’s damage increases by 10% (max 50%) for each debuff, when the target has 3 or more debuffs.

Best Team Comps For Dr. Ratio

The best teams for Dr. Ratio will need to use his high number of Follow-up attacks, which increases based on the debuffs placed on the enemy. Having someone like Welt on the team is necessary, as he can apply 3 debuffs in one turn. You can also use Pela or Silver Wolf instead of Welt. Also, running Topaz with Dr. Ratio will substantially increase the damage of his Follow-up Attacks.

If you want to run Dr. Ratio as a sub DPS, then you can pair him with Kafka. For a sustain, we suggest Huohuo or Luocha. However, any sustain should work with him, but Huohuo will let him use his Ultimate quickly.

Should You Pull for Dr. Ratio in Honkai Star Rail?

HoYoverse has already planned to gift Dr. Ratio for free in the Honkai Star Rail 1.6 update. Furthermore, his Eidolons are not worth enough to invest, so you don’t need to pull for him. Besides that, I personally think Dr. Ratio’s kit is very strong. His kit allows him to start dealing high damage from the start of the battle, as long as you have a good Debuff Applier on your team.

He is going to be a great DPS option, and as you don’t need to pull for him, your Stellar Jades are also saved for the next upcoming 2.0 banner.
