Here’s How You Can Claim Rs. 3,900 Refund For iPhone Battery Replacement

Apple iPhone Battery

Apple is offering refunds to all iPhone customers who paid the full price to replace the battery on their older iPhones before the company announced its discounted battery-replacement scheme on December 29 last year. As part of its ‘out-of-warranty battery replacement credit’, the company is refunding Rs. 3,900 to eligible customers in India ($50 in the US, £54 in the UK).

In case you’re in India, the easiest way to claim the refund is to call up Apple Support at 000800 1009009. The service is available 7 days a week between 9 am – 8 pm IST. Do note that you’ll need to keep all your info ready, including your Apple ID and the IMEI / MEID of the device in question. You can find the IMEI / MEID number of your iPhone by going into Settings > General > About.

You can also visit an authorized Apple Store, an official Apple Repair Center or an Authorized Authorized Service Provider for the purpose, but Beebom was categorically told by Apple support that customers won’t have to physically visit a store to claim the refund, so you can get the job done from the comfort of your home.

Do note that the offer is valid only on certain models and only under certain conditions. So if you paid the full Rs. 5,900 to replace the battery on your iPhone 6 / 6 Plus, iPhone 6S / 6S Plus, iPhone SE or iPhone 7 / 7 Plus, from an Apple Store, an official Apple Repair Center or an Authorized Authorized Service Provider between January 1, 2017 and December 28, 2018, you may be eligible for the refund, so do watch out for the official Apple e-mail.

In case you believe you qualify for the refund but are not contacted by Apple by August 1, you should get in touch with Apple Support on or before December 31, 2018.
