Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has confirmed that he won’t make an appearance in GTA 6, following his cameo in WWE 2K26 as a playable character. In his interview with IGN, Strauss clarified that his decision to make a surprise appearance in WWE 2K26 was because he asked for it.
“How did it come about? I asked,” Strauss said. “I wish I could say that there was huge popular demand internally and externally, but that would be a lie. I asked, and then I went on the soundstage, and I did motion capture, and we all had fun with it. But no, this was a rare moment where I said, ‘I think this would be fun. Let’s do this.’ And everyone was like, ‘Okay.’”
He further clarified that he loved WWE and thought it would be “funny for insiders and for some consumers” to see him in the game. However, he did concede that even though many people played and loved it, the online response towards his appearance was quite lacklustre.
When asked about his possible appearance in GTA 6, given that it is set to be the biggest game from Take-Two, Strauss firmly rejected the idea. However, seeing how Rockstar Games loves to parody known personalities, we cannot fully put aside the possibility of Strauss ending up as a GTA 6 character yet. Hopefully, the upcoming GTA 6 extended look on Netflix sheds some light on this entire thing.
What I am more looking forward to is seeing old GTA characters making a surprise appearance. I would love to see Tommy Vercetti in GTA 6, given that the game takes place in the iconic Vice City. Even if Tommy doesn’t make an appearance in person, we will definitely get to see some GTA 6 easter eggs around him.
