Boruto Time Skip Anime Episode: When Will It Come Out?

Thanks to all the hype created by the release of Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 1, fans are now looking forward to the return of the Boruto anime. After the time skip, the brand-new character designs look invigorated and uber-cool. That is one of the main reasons why fans want the anime to restart after its almost six-month hiatus. And it’s not just the manga fans; the anime-only fans are also eager to know what happens next with Boruto and Kawaki. Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Anime Release Date

Most parts of the Boruto anime have been a hit-or-miss as the show included a slew of fillers (see Boruto filler list here) to broaden the gap between the manga and anime. But the anime’s manga canon episodes were absolute bangers, which made the fans continue watching the anime. The Boruto anime includes a total of 293 episodes, and the last episode aired on March 26, 2023. The final episodes adapted the Code’s Assault arc and covered up to manga chapter 70.

There is one more chapter (chapter 71) left to be covered in Code’s Assault arc in the Boruto anime. After that, we have the Prophecy arc featuring nine chapters (chapters 72 to 80) that are yet to be adapted before the anime can witness a time skip like the manga did. Since the anime wrapped up its first half back in March 2023, it was immediately confirmed that part 2 was in production and scheduled to be released soon. However, the release date of the Boruto Two Blue Vortex anime was never mentioned.

Earlier leaks suggested that we might be able to stream the Boruto Two Blue Vortex anime in October 2023. But if that was the case, we would have received an announcement or at least a confirmation from the team by now. At the time of writing, we have no confirmation about the return of the Boruto anime series. Therefore, the expected release date of the anime is mid-2024 or even late 2024.

What to Expect from Boruto Timeskip Anime?

As there is no official confirmation at the moment, all eyes are now set on Jump Festa 2024, which is set to take place from December 16 to December 17, 2023. The official team behind Boruto will make an appearance at Jump Festa next year, along with several other popular Shonen staff. Without a doubt, we will get news about the most-awaited Boruto anime Part 2 i.e. Boruto: Two Blue Vortex anime. We expect the anime series to release in early 2024 or no later than Q2 2024.

Also, we don’t yet know if Boruto will adopt the same path as its father’s series (LOL). Since the new manga serialization after the time skip is known as Boruto: Two Blue Vortex (similar to Naruto Shippuden), will the anime cover it as a new installment? Only time can tell.
