Powermat Introduces Charging Spot 4.0 Universal Wireless Charging Pads

You might already be familiar with wireless charging spots at various public locations like at airports, malls, arenas, coffee shops, etc. In case you don’t know, Powermat is the company behind it. Now that the wireless charging standard is slowly becoming norm, the company is introducing a new way to charge your device known as Charging Spot 4.0.

The Charging Spot 4.0 is a new type of wireless charger that makes use of SmartInductive technology. This is an entirely new platform, and it can charge almost all mobile devices wirelessly on any surface. According to the company, it is less of a hassle to get Charging Spot 4.0 installed as well. It is capable of transferring power through surfaces that range from 0.5 to 1.5 inches thick, thereby eliminating the need for expensive and tricky installation like drilling into the furniture, etc.

Considering the fact that the SmartInductive technology works with most wireless charging standards, it is an outright winner. Charging Spot 4.0 can support zero to 40 watts of charging power on a single platform and it is compatible with Qi, AFA inductive, Apple’s 7.5-watt wireless charging, and fast-charging capabilities for Android. Apart from smartphones, Charging Spot 4.0 can charge tablets, laptops, and smartwatches as well. And irrespective of the device you’re planning on charging, you only need one sticker.

In addition to the launch of Charging Spot 4.0, Powermat also announced that it has joined the Wireless Power Consortium in an effort to add to the Qi ecosystem. In case you don’t know, Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) is a group that promotes the adoption of the popular Qi charging specification and tech giants like Samsung, Google, Apple, etc. are members of this group.
