Expect many world premieres and gameplay reveals, including some of the highly anticipated names. A Closer Look at Saros
Saros is set to release on April 30, 2026, which makes the PlayStation State of Play 2026 the perfect time to make some final reveals. Although we have already seen a fair bit of Saros’s gameplay, there is still a lot more to learn. Possibly, we will get a cinematic trailer at the State of Play, where the game’s story will be teased to the players.
Marvel’s Wolverine: More Gameplay Reveal
Marvel’s Wolverine is one of the most anticipated games from Insomniac, and we might finally get more gameplay reveal this State of Play. The last gameplay trailer was revealed at the previous State of Play event over four months ago, but it was mostly a cinematic trailer with little gameplay shown. A full-blown gameplay reveal with a release date announcement would be perfect to hype PlayStation 5 players for 2026, which is what we predict for PlayStation State of Play in February.
Devil May Cry 6 Teaser
Devil May Cry 5 was released back in 2019, almost seven years ago. For seven long years, we DMC fans had heard nothing about an upcoming installment, but it finally seems to be happening in the February State of Play. A new leak has surfaced on the internet about DMC 6 being announced in the State of Play, and it does look trustworthy. With such a long time since the last installment, will Dante return once again? Hopefully, Capcom plans to announce it at the State of Play.
New PlayStation Peripheral or Console Tease
The start of 2026 without a new PlayStation peripheral or console tease won’t be complete. The upcoming State of Play is bound to tease something for core PlayStation fans. And with all the PlayStation 6 leaks spreading on social media, Sony might become generous and give us a first look at the next-generation PlayStation console.
Detroit Become Human Sequel Tease
Actor Bryan Dechart, who played Connor in Detroit: Become Human, has recently retweeted the State of Play announcement with an eye emoji. Rumors have sparked up ever since, and the community is assuming a Detroit: Become Human sequel announcement in the February State of Play.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Part III Reveal
Final Fantasy VII has been one of the biggest entries in the entire franchise, and Square Enix didn’t forget to capitalize on it by making an incredible remake. But, Final Fantasy VII Remake was divided into three different parts, two of which have already released. Our State of Play prediction is that the third part of the remake will finally be announced at this event.
Death Stranding 2 PC Port and DLC Announcement
Death Stranding 2 On the Beach was one of the biggest games of 2025, getting nominated multiple times for The Game Awards. However, it is still a PS5 exclusive game, which keeps a large gaming base from enjoying it. Thankfully, the February State of Play is predicted to announce Death Stranding 2 for the PC. Other than that, also expect the Director’s Cut DLC announcement alongside it.
Physint Teaser
Alongside a Death Stranding 2 announcement, we can also expect Hideo Kojima to tease one of his other games that would be a PS5 exclusive. Currently, only Physint is known to be a PS5 exclusive, and we haven’t had a teaser for it yet. Our State of Play prediction is that the game will finally make an appearance during this event. This will be the perfect time to showcase Physint to the fans and get Kojima fans excited for the future. Previously, Physint’s poster was released by Kojima Productions, so there is a lot to look forward to for fans.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet Gameplay Reveal
Naughty Dog’s next big project has gone under the radar ever since its first announcement. It’s been years since we first had a look at Intergalactic’s cinematic trailer. Our State of Play prediction is that the game will get a new trailer. However, Intergalactic won’t be releasing in 2026, as confirmed by the developers earlier this year.
Marvel Tokon Release Date
Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls has been one of the most hyped fighting games for 2026, even though it went through a rocky beta recently. But core Fighting fans are still excited for the game’s release, and with its name tied to Marvel, expect a lot more gamers to jump into it on release. Our State of Play prediction is that Marvel Tokon’s official release date will be announced during this event.
Horizon Hunters Gathering Gameplay
Horizon Hunters Gathering will be a tactical co-op action game set in the universe of Horizon Zero Dawn. The game’s cinematic trailer and gameplay were revealed recently, and it looks highly promising. This State of Play would be the perfect place to further showcase the gameplay details to PlayStation 5 gamers.
Okami 2 Release Date
Another Capcom game that gamers have been looking for a long time is the sequel to the action-adventure game Okami. We have already heard news of Okami 2 entering early production in 2026, so Capcom may showcase a teaser about the game during this State of Play.
Ghost of Yotei Legends
Ghost of Yotei was one of the highlights of 2025, and the trend will likely continue in 2026 as well. The game is expected to add its Legend mode this year, which is the multiplayer mode also introduced in Tsushima. One of our State of Play predictions is that the Legends mode will be teased during this event.
Onimusha Way of the Sword Release Date
Onimusha Way of the Sword is set to release in 2026, but has not received a release date yet. The game looks amazing and features the trademark hack-and-slash combat Capcom is known for. Hopefully, we will get a release date announcement during this year’s State of Play.
A New God of War Game Announcement
Finally, State of Play predictions cannot go without a God of War entry. A new God of War game has been rumored to be in the work and it might finally be revealed in the February State of Play.
GTA 6 Trailer 3
It appears that Grand Theft Auto 6 won’t have any further delays. The game is set to release this November, making February the perfect time to release the third trailer for the game, and hopefully some gameplay elements. Like all previous entries, GTA VI is rumored to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive on launch, so I doubt Sony would pass this opportunity in this State of Play.
