We are talking about improved functionality, revamped biomes, special villages, and more amazing features. Though, that doesn’t stop the addition of cool new biomes and mobs. So yeah, there is a lot for us to go through. With that said, let’s add fuel to your enthusiasm and explore the grand Minecraft 1.19 update.
Minecraft 1.19: Everything You Need to Know
We are covering a variety of Minecraft 1.19 features in-depth in this guide. That ranges from new mobs and biome changes to the release date and how to get the Minecraft 1.19 beta features right now.
Minecraft 1.19 Release Date
Mojang has officially rolled out the Minecraft 1.19 update, and it is now available to download on all the compatible platforms and devices. Eager players, go ahead and update your game and meet all the new mobs in the new biomes in the 1.19 update. We have included a list of seeds down below to make the exploration easier for you, so do check it out.
Is Minecraft 1.19 Update Divided into 2 Parts?
Similar to the Caves & Cliffs update, many Minecraft players expect the wild update to be divided into two parts as well. There’s no official confirmation of the same yet. But looking at the diversity of planned changes, it won’t be surprising to see another two-part update in the game.
One part of the wild update can focus on adding new features to the game. Meanwhile, the other part might revamp the existing biomes and wildlife in the game. If you want to dig deeper into the speculations around the Minecraft 1.19 release date, check out the linked article.
New Biomes in Minecraft 1.19 (Confirmed)
The first and most exciting part of the Minecraft 1.19 update is all the new biomes. At the moment, Minecraft has only confirmed two new biomes in this update – the Deep Dark Caves and Mangrove Swamp. However, as suggested in Minecraft Live 2021, we can expect 1.19 to upgrade a variety of in-game biomes.

The update’s focus isn’t only on adding many new items to the game. Instead, as the name tells, the wild update is also supposed to upgrade the existing biomes and wildlife of Minecraft. You can use our list of new biomes of Minecraft 1.19 to understand their features in-depth.
New Structures in Minecraft 1.19
For now, developers have only confirmed the ancient city as a new structure for the game. It is part of the deep dark biome and the home to a hostile boss mob: Warden. You can get rare loot chests, new blocks, and even Minecraft ores in this area.
Moreover, if the biome revamps continue as planned, players can also expect three new types of villages in the game. These include:
- Swamp Village: We already have swamp villagers in the game. With the addition of mud building blocks, mangrove wood, and new swamp mobs, these villagers might finally get a hometown of their own.
- Jungle Village: Similar to swamp villagers, we have existing functional jungle villagers’ models. All that’s left to do is implement their spawning and create a jungle village in Minecraft.
New Mobs in Minecraft 1.19 (Confirmed)
If revamped biomes don’t impress you, the new mobs definitely will. Early leaks, beta snapshots, and the overall plan of the Minecraft 1.19 update suggest that we might see plenty of new wild mobs. Many biomes such as deserts, swamps, and savannas don’t have exclusive biomes that fit their environment. So, if the Wild update stays true to its description, we might see new mobs in each of them.
Here’s a complete list of confirmed new mobs in the Minecraft 1.19 update. You can learn about each of them in-depth using our linked guides.
New Music Disc in Minecraft 1.19
Like most updates, Minecraft is bringing the following four new tracks to the game:
- Ancestry
- Aerie
- Firebugs
- Labyrinthine
You can hear these music tracks in specific biomes and the main menus of the game.
Music Disc 5
Minecraft already has a variety of music discs that you can play in jukeboxes within your world. But the wild update expands this selection with a unique type of music disc. Unlike other discs, you find it as broken pieces known as disc fragments in the Ancient Cities. You can combine nine disc fragments using a crafting table to get the unique deep dark-themed disc.
As for the sound, the new disc gives out creepy vibes. Its audio is filled with scary environmental noises, footsteps, and howling voices. If it is played within the deep dark biome, the disc can easily scare your whole group with ease.
But that doesn’t seem to be the main purpose of this disc. Instead, as per speculations, Music Disc 5 appears to hint towards the huge Ancient City portal (rumored) and the likely addition of a new dimension in the next Minecraft update.
Goat Horns
First teased in the Caves & Cliffs Part 2, the goat horns are the first musical instrument to be introduced in Minecraft. The player has to blow the goat horn to make a sound and other players can hear it from a long distance.
The game has 8 types of goat horns and each one of them has its own unique sound. You can discover each goat horn in Minecraft and hear its sound in our linked guide. We have also covered how to get a goat horn, and it’s a fun game mechanic.
Minecraft 1.19: Other Confirmed Features
Beyond the mobs and biomes, Minecraft 1.19 also promises a lot of functional improvements. We are yet to get a list of all new features, but among the announced ones, the chest with a boat is making the most noise. It allows you to carry your inventory on a boat while traveling in Minecraft waters. And knowing how easy it is to make a boat in Minecraft, chests in boats are a welcoming addition for explorers.
Other confirmed upcoming features of the Minecraft 1.19 update include:
- Skulk blocks from the deep dark biome are compatible with red stone builds and can function like alarms, security systems, and more.
- Mud blocks and bricks from swamp biomes can be the alternate building material for your next in-game home.
- The mangrove trees, with their unique structure, propagules, and texture, are going to set a base of changes in all in-game trees.
- You can use frogs to spawn frog lights which are new light blocks that have three variants.
- Other than world-changing features, we can get new enchantments and commands in the game. For now, we know about the Swift Sneaking boots enchantment that allows you to move faster while sneaking.

Minecraft’s 1.18 update was called Caves & Cliffs Part 2 update. It added new terrain generation, cave biomes, mountain biomes, and even some new ore distribution to the game.
The upcoming Minecraft 1.19 update is also known as the “Wild” update. It aims to make the existing wildlife more interesting and inviting for the players. But beyond that, it is also bringing new biomes, new mobs, and a lot of exciting features to the game.
Minecraft 1.19 will come together for both Minecraft Java and Bedrock editions. We are expecting a release date of June 2022 but there is no official confirmation of the same. However, you can use the Minecraft Preview app to test out the upcoming features early in the game.
