Huawei unveiled the Mate 20 Pro flagship yesterday, and just as the numerous leaks had predicted, the device is loaded to the brim with impressive features, be it a triple rear camera setup, world’s first 7nm mobile chipset, and a ton of AI features.
Aside from the hardware, the Mate 20 Pro is also among the first smartphones to support Huawei’s proprietary ‘Nano Memory Card’ and features an under-display fingerprint scanner, a 3D Depth Sensing VSEL sensor for the front camera, and the reverse wireless charging capability.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro Specifications:
The IP68-rated Mate 20 Pro features a 6.39-inch OLED display with a resolution of 3120 x 1440 and a pixel density of 538 PPI. The display has curved edges, while the rear panel features a unique Hyper Optical pattern and has an anti-slip texture to it which keeps fingerprints and smudges at bay.
Under the hood, the device packs the Kirin 980 processor which is claimed to bring a 75% performance boost, and is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Huawei also claims that the Mate 20 Pro is the world’s first smartphone to support 1.4 Gbps LTE Cat.21 standard.
The device packs a 4,200 mAh battery which supports Huawei’s 40W SuperCharge fast charging technology that can juice up the battery up to 70% in 30 minutes. More importantly, the device also has support for Wireless Reverse Charge, which means the Mate 20 Pro can charge another smartphone wirelessly.
In the imaging department, Huawei has equipped the Mate 20 Pro with a triple rear camera set-up which consists of a 40MP (f/1.8) RGB sensor, a 20MP (f/2.2) ultra wide-angle lens and an 8MP (f/2.4) telephoto lens, while a 24MP sensor is there to capture selfies.
