Aventurine is a 5-star Preservation Shielder, with the Imaginary damage type. He is an offensive Preservation character with Follow-up attacks and Shields, similar to March 7th. However, Aventurine’s shields are much stronger and are team-wide instead of being limited to a single target.

Aventurine is a member of the IPC, Interastral Peace Corporation, a senior manager of the Strategic Investment Department, and a member of the Ten Stonehearts. He possesses an air of frivolity and is a gambler by heart. Aventurine considers exploitation and treachery as simply tools of trade.

HSR Aventurine Kit and Best Cycle Rotation (At Max Level)

Aventurine’s full kit is finally revealed, and it is stacked with offensive and defensive abilities. Let’s take a closer look at his kit, to learn how to play Aventurine with his best build.

  • Straight Bet (Basic Attack): Deals Imaginary Damage equal to a 130% of Aventurine’s Defense.
  • Cornerstone Deluxe (Skill): Provides a team-wide Fortified Wager shield capable of absorbing damage equal to 28% of Aventurine’s Defense + 410 for 3 turns. When gaining Fortified Wager repeatedly, the Shield effect can stack up to 200% of the current Shield effect provided by the Skill.
  • Roulette Shark (Ultimate): Randomly gains 1 to 7 points of Blind Bet and inflicts Unnerved on a single enemy, for 3 turns. Additionally, deals Imaginary Damage equal to 324% of his Defense on the target enemy. Furthermore, if an ally attacks an enemy marked as Unnerved, their Crit Damage increases by 18%.

  • Sights Aimed Right (Talent): A single Ally with Fortified Wager gets 62.5% increased Effect Resistance. When a single ally with the Fortified Wager shield is attacked, Aventurine gains 1 point of Blind Bet. When Aventurine has Fortified Wager, he can resist Crowd Control debuffs for 1 time, every 2 turns. Additionally, Aventurine gains 1 point of Blind Bet (max 10 stacks) after being attacked while equipping Fortified Wager. When Aventurine reaches 7 points of Blind Bet, he consumes all the 7 points and launches a 7-hit Follow-up Bounce attack to a random enemy, with each hit dealing Imaginary Damage equal to 31.25% of his Defense.
  • The Red or the Black (Technique): Aventurine gets either of these 3 effects for 2 turns after entering the battle. Only the latest of the effects are kept.
    1) There is a chance of Defense increasing by 24%.
    2) There is a high chance of Defense increasing by 36%.
    3) There is a small chance of Defense increasing by 60%.

Aventurine has a strong defensive kit with a lot of offensive elements and he completely scales on Defense. His Skill provides shields to all allies, scaling on his Defense, and his special shields are stackable. His Ultimate does good Imaginary Damage on a single enemy and marks them Unnerved. Allies attacking the Unnerved enemy has increased Crit damage.

His Talent allows him to do bounce 7-hit Follow-up attacks, while also providing Crown Control resistance to allies and himself. When Aventurine accumulates 7 points of Blind Bet, he unleashes his Follow-up attack.

His ideal kit rotation should start with using his Skill to give the team-wide shield (unless you have the Hot Hand ascension ability unlocked), followed by two basic attacks, and then either using his Skill, if the shields are down, or using the basic if the Shields are still up. The Fortified wager only lasts 3 turns so, make sure to his Skill again once every 3 turns. Use his Ultimate whenever you have the chance, to mark the enemy as Unnerved.

Aventurine’s kit is very strong, but to get the best out of it you will need to use the suitable Relic and Planar Ornament sets, with the correct stats. Here are the best Relics, Planar Ornaments and Stats for Aventurine’s best build.

  • 2-piece Penacony, Land of the Dreams
  • 2-piece Belobog of the Architects

The 2-piece Broken Keel Planar Ornament set is best for Aventurine, as it increases the Crit Damage of all allies when the wearer’s Effect Resistance is more than 30%, which is easily attainable for Aventurine.

Other than that, you can use the 2-piece Penacony, Land of the Dreams set for increased Energy Regeneration Rate. It is particularly useful if you have an Imaginary Damage type DPS in the team like Dr. Ratio or Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, as they will get a damage boost.

The 2-piece Belobog of the Architects is a decent choice if you have good sub-stats on them as it boosts the Defense of the wearer. However, Aventurine cannot use this set’s full potential.

Aventurine has some very strong Light Cone options. His best Light Cone is Inherently Unjust Destiny, which is his signature light cone. Other than that, Trend of the Universal Market is the best 4-star pick, as it increases his defense and burns enemies with DoT damage scaling based on his Defense. You can also use This is Me! which gives a similar Defense buff, and increases the Ultimate damage of the wearer by 60% at S1.

The new Forgotten Hall light cone, Destiny’s Threads Forewoven is a good F2P option and very easy to Superimpose. The Texture of Memories Herta Store Light Cone can also be a decent option if you have it superimposed.

His E1 and E2 significantly increase damage of allies and his E4 and E6 increase Aventurines damage considerably. Aventurine’s Eidolons are definitely worth getting, especially his E1 and E2. However, Aventurine’s best build is strong enough without his Eidolons.

  • Imaginary Damage Boost: 14.4%
  • Defense Boost: 35%

Aventurine’s Ascension abilities are quite good and worth investing in. His A2 ability increases his Crit Rate based on his excess Defense after 1600, so stacking the Defense stat in Aventurine’s best build is a must-have, as it would both increase his offensive and defensive abilities.

His A4 ability provides a team-wide shield at the start of combat, which basically saves his Skill point usage at the start of the turn. Aventurine’s A6 ability allows him to refresh the shield of all allies when his follow-up attack is triggered, which is a very good ability.

Best Teams for Aventurine

When it comes to the best team comps for Aventurine, he can pretty much go along with any Hyper Carry or DPS characters. Both Clara and Dr. Ratio would appreciate Aventurine’s shields the most, and together they can wreak havoc with their Follow-up counterattacks, especially if you have Topaz in the team. Other than that, you can also pair him with Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, Seele, or Jing Yuan. You can also play him in a mono-imaginary team.

For Supports, any Harmony character would do well. However, Damage Shredding Support units and team-wide buffing units will also increase the damage output of Aventurine. So, characters like Pela, Ruan Mei, and Asta are more useful with Aventurine.

Should You Pull for Aventurine in Honkai Star Rail?

Overall, Aventurine’s kit looks strong, with both defensive and offensive elements, and he can become one of the go-to Sustain characters in the future. He also provides stat buffs for allies and effortlessly provides team-wide shields.

Other than that, his Eidolons are equally strong and can be very broken. You should definitely go for Aventurine if you have enough Stellar Jades for the hard pity. Geopard, March 7th, or Fire Trailblazer, are often unused compared to other sustain units, so hopefully Aventurine will change that with his release.
