- Asha Sharma, CEO of Xbox, revealed a redacted eight-letter title for the next Elder Scrolls game.
- Fans believe 'SENTINEL' is the eight-letter title for the upcoming The Elder Scrolls 6.
- Michael Kirkbride, an ex-Bethesda game artist, agrees with the theory, fueling strong speculation.
Xbox CEO Asha Sharma may have accidentally given Elder Scrolls fans something new to talk about after mentioning a special screening of The Elder Scrolls 6:******** and calling it ‘incredible’ on X yesterday. The internet jumped on the mystery to crack the redacted eight-letter title, and now fans think they may have finally got it.
Elder Scrolls 6 Might Be Called SENTINEL, Fans Claim
The theory comes from a recent discussion on GamingLeaks subreddit, where Elder Scrolls 6 fans deduced that the title for the sixth game could be ‘SENTINEL’. The word matches the eight-letter clue that the Xbox CEO left in her post and has already been rumored as a possible subtitle for The Elder Scrolls 6.
The theory gets more interesting when Michael Kirkbride entered the picture. Michael has previously worked with Bethesda as a game artist on projects like The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind.
He has backed the theory by commenting, ‘Yes’ on a post on TESVI subreddit which talks about Sentinel as the next title of the upcoming Elder Scrolls game. Still, it is hard to completely ignore someone with the kind of history and connections he might have at Bethesda.
Furthermore, Bethesda has a history of hiding hints about its upcoming games. Fallout 3 and Fallout 4, often considered among the best Fallout games, contained references to Vault 76 before Fallout 76 was announced. Another clue that boosts the SENTINEL theory for Elder Scrolls 6 comes from Bethesda’s last major game, Starfield.
Three years ago, a Starfield fan on Reddit posted an easter egg they found in the game. In the character creation menu, there is an employee number ‘190514-2009140512’ that remains the same for every player.
At first it looks like a simple code, but upon dividing the code after every 2 digits like ’19|05|14|20|09|14|05|12′ and replacing the numbers with their alphabet substitution, the same number gives the word ‘SENTINEL’.
While this may seem like a coincidence, SENTINEL is still the top contender for the official title for The Elder Scrolls 6. However, the clues do not stop here. If you follow The Elder Scrolls lore, the kingdom of Sentinel is mentioned in Skyrim.
A return to the kingdom would also make sense for Bethesda, as the studio could finally reimagine the region with modern technology. The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall originally used procedural generation and could not fully capture Sentinel’s potential.
Whereas Elder Scrolls 6 could give the desert kingdom the detailed treatment fans have been waiting for. Bethesda has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls 6 remains in development alongside games like Fallout 5 and remasters of Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Still, fans should not expect a major reveal anytime soon.
