Early Hands-on Videos Give Up-close Look At Alleged Samsung Galaxy S9 Display

Early Hands-on Video Videos Of Samsung Galaxy S9 Leakes

Not even a day has passed since Samsung made its Unpacked event official, and we are already seeing leaked hands-on videos of what seems like an alleged Samsung Galaxy S9. The videos were sent to SlashGear, a website which has previously covered leaks which turned out to be pretty credible.

While covering the leak SlashGear wrote,

“Two Galaxy S9 units appeared in leaked videos sent this morning from China. We have not seen these units firsthand, and so cannot vouch for their veracity – but they certainly do seem to be the real deal.”

Both the videos show the front of the device one with the screen on and one with the screen off. It’s really hard to tell from the front if the leaked devices are indeed Galaxy S9 as nothing much have changed in the front. If the leaks are actually true, it will be hard for Samsung to persuade Galaxy S8 owners to switch to a new device.

The video also supports previous leaks which showed an unchanged front. The only significant change which is to be expected with Samsung Galaxy S9 is in the back as the leaks suggested that it will sport a dual-camera and the fingerprint will move below the camera module rather than being beside it. However, since the videos don’t show the back of the device, it is hard to say anything.

According to other leaks covered by SlashGear, both the Galaxy S9 and S9 plus will be a little shorter, wider, and thicker than their predecessors. SlashGear writes,

“The standard Galaxy S8 Plus is 159.5 x 73.4 x 8.1mm, and the Galaxy S9 Plus is reportedly 157.7 x 73.8 x 8.5mm. The Galaxy S8 has dimensions of 148.9mm tall, 68.1mm wide, and 8.0mm thick. The Galaxy S9 was reported recently to be 147.6 x 68.7 x 8.4mm.”

However, none of these claims can either be confirmed or denied from what we see in the video. Still, many people are considering this as a legitimate leak and if that’s the case, it’s not winning any new design awards this year.
