The Boys Season 4 ended with a massive cliffhanger that has left us all yearning for The Boys Season 5 to drop instantaneously. The final episode of season 4 had a massive post-credits scene that legitimately had the fans screaming. The scene shows that Homelander has found out that Soldier Boy is alive, and we get a shot of him in a cryo chamber. This scene has led fans to believe that Soldier Boy will return and might play a role in taking down Homelander. Now, while it has been confirmed that Soldier Boy will have a major role in The Boys Season 5, let’s find out if Soldier Boy can kill Homelander in the upcoming season.
Soldier Boy Can Drain Homelander of His Powers and Kill Him
The Boys Season 3 made it clear that Soldier Boy can kill Homelander. We see that Soldier Boy has developed the power to generate a massive radiation blast that can burn off the Compound V in a supe’s bloodstream, nulling all their powers.
In Season 3, Butcher planned to use Soldier Boy’s radiation blast and kill Homelander, but his plan did not exactly work out. So yes, Soldier Boy can drain Homelander of all his powers and easily kill him once he is powerless.
However, showrunner Eric Kripke has revealed that Soldier Boy will go after Butcher instead of Homelander in The Boys Season 5.
Does Soldier Boy Kill Homelander in The Boys Comic
However, it’s really difficult to say that this is what’s going to happen in The Boys Season 5 since The Boys comics had a very different ending and storyline as compared to its TV show counterpart. In the comics, Soldier Boy is the leader of a superhero team called Payback, but wants a spot in The Seven. Homelander lies to Soldier Boy that sleeping with him will get Soldier Boy the role he wants, and Soldier Boy does it on multiple occasions. They never actually engage in actual combat in The Boys comics.
Even though the show is not exactly following the story of the comics, it is heading towards a rather comic-accurate ending where Homelander is killed in a way you’ll never expect, and Butcher is killed by someone you will never expect.
