The Mi Pocket Speaker 2 is Xiaomi’s 2nd-generation portable wireless speaker that comes with a small form-factor, and has a minimalist, cylindrical design. It has been developed by renowned audio products manufacturer, Tymphany, and works with both iOS and Android devices. It also comes with a built-in mic for hands-free calling.
The speaker has a segmented design, with its top part made out of anodized aluminum alloy. The lower part is made out of PC + ABS material, which the company claims is ‘high-quality’ and ‘pleasing to touch’.
In terms of hardware, the Mi Pocket Speaker connects to streaming devices via Bluetooth 4.1, has an impedance of 4 ohm, a frequency range of 20Hz-20KHz and a signal-to-noise ratio of 53dB. The device also comes with a 1,200mAh 3.7V battery that charges over USB, and offers 7 hours of continuous music playback on a single charge, according to Xiaomi’s marketing materials.
The new speaker also comes with some pretty cool launch offers from three of the largest mobile wallets in the country. While Paytm users are entitled to Rs 150 as cashback, Freecharge users can get a 10 percent cashback up to R 100. Mobikwik is also offering a ‘SuperCash’ cashback of up to Rs 2,500.
It is worth mentioning that Xiaomi already has other portable Bluetooth speakers in the India market, including the Mi Speaker Basic 2 that comes in the more traditional boxy form-factor. The device was launched last year for Rs. 2,699, but has since been discounted to Rs. 1,799.
Xiaomi is also offering deals, discounts and cashbacks on a bunch of other products as part of its ‘Mi Music Festival’, so you can hit this link to go over to the company’s official Indian webstore and check them all out for yourself.
