Wuthering Waves has become quite a success over the years, and the game is extremely fun to play and explore. Best Wuwa SS Tier Characters
The SS Tier characters in Wuthering are the absolute best characters in the game. These characters can single-handedly carry you through the hardest challenges and bring immense value to any team they are part of.
Sigrika
Sigrika jumped straight to the SS tier spot in our Wuthering Waves tier list on her release. She is an extremely strong Aero DPS and scales primarily off Echo Skill damage. The best part about her kit is that it features almost everything, including self-buffing, crowd control, and a ton of damage. She is very easy to build, as all you need to do is heavily invest in Crit, ATK, and her energy regen.
If you need a good Aero DPS, then Sigrika is the ideal choice in the current Wuthering Waves meta. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that you need to pair her with other resonators who are also Echo-Skill damage-based in the game.
Aemeath
Aemeath easily makes her place in the SS tier of our Wuwa tier list on her release. She is a very versatile and extremely strong DPS unit. She can apply and consume Fusion Burst by herself and can inflict Tune Rupture on enemies effectively. This is why Aemeath easily fits into either Tune Rupture or Fusion Burst teams, while also being capable in Mono Fusion setups. This gives her a ton of team versatility.
Her damage multipliers are massive, and she has very strong self-buffing capability. You can also use her unique flight utility in Lahai-Roi, which is fun to have. When it comes to pure damage output, she is among the best resonators in the game.
Iuno
Iuno is probably the most versatile character in Wuthering Waves. She is primarily a sub-DPS, but also has incredibly strong supporting abilities. She can amplify Heavy Attack DMG, heal allies, and regenerate stamina, while also dealing an extremely high amount of damage. However, you do need Augusta alongside Iuno to get the best out of her kit.
Her best role is that of a sub-DPS, due to her incredibly high off-field damage output. However, she can also do a fairly good job of acting as the main DPS. Match her up with Augusta to get everything out of her kit and dominate in fights.
Phrolova
Phrolova has massive damage output, which makes her one of the best Havoc DPS in the game. She excels both in off-field and on-field DPS roles, and she has one of the highest Liberation skill damage in the game. Phrolova is the best in slot for the DPS role in mono Havoc teams, completing it and bringing it up to a competing level in the current meta.
She particularly excels in dual DPS setups, due to her high on-field and off-field damage output. Make sure to play her in teams with a focus on Echo Skill damage, as she is reliant on Echo skills to get the job done.
Cartethyia
Carthehyia is the best Aero DPS in Wuthering Waves, and her damage output is extremely high. She can apply the Aero erosion herself without other help. Cartethyia completely scales on HP, making her very tanky in battles, while also dealing a huge amount of damage. If you want to get a strong Aero DPS for your team, Cartethyia is the best option.
She largely overshadows Jiyan as an Aero DPS and feels too safe from being powercreeped anytime soon in the future. Her character design is also one of the best in the game, and there is no reason not to pull her from the WuWa banners.
Ciaccona
Ciacconna is a really good Aero support who excels at buffing allies and debuffing enemies. She can apply multiple instances of Aero Erosion and Spectro Frazzle on enemies and perfectly pairs with Cartethyia. Ciacconna also buffs Aero DMG for her allies, and is overall a really strong support character for the right teams.
Make sure to play Ciaccona with Cartethyia to get the best out of both characters’ kits. She is also a very strong sub-DPS with incredibly high off-field damage output. Her kit also allows her to inflict multiple instances of Negative status effects on enemies.
Lupa
Lupa is the most important character for Fusion teams in Wuthering Waves. She brings Fusion teams to new heights by shredding enemy Fusion resistance and passively increasing Fusion damage for the entire team. Lupa is unstoppable in mono-fusion teams, but her kit also makes her very limited for team comps in the game.
But when paired with the correct Resonators, she can absolutely shred through bosses due to her Pack Hunt skill. This skill increases her damage dealt to Overworld and Calamity class echoes, making her essentially a boss killer in Wuthering Waves. That’s why we have placed her in the SS tier in our WuWa tier list.
Lynae
Lynae is another very strong sub-DPS character who can easily fit into multiple teams due to her very strong buffs. She amplifies all DMG via Liberation and Outro, and is a driver for Tune Break, making her perfect for almost all teams in the game. She herself doesn’t shy away from a fight and deals a ton of damage.
Shorekeeper
Shorekeeper continues to be one of the strongest supports in Wuthering Waves, well-deserving of her SS tier position in our Wuthering Waves tier list. She buffs Crit for her allies while also healing them. Shorekeeper also has other damage amplification passives, but one of her amazing capabilities is to prevent knockout.
Shorekeeper is also extremely versatile and can fit into almost every team in the game. If you are trying to figure out a specific support for your team, but cannot find the correct character, simply adding Shorekeeper will get the job done in most cases.
Augusta
Augusta is another very strong electro DPS character who dishes out very high Heavy Attack DMG. She is also aesthetically amazing, with the ability to literally stop time in mid-fight. There is no better character to play in Wuthering Waves if you want to aura-farm on enemies.
Galbrena
Galbrena is one of the strongest DPS characters in Wuthering Waves. Although she has split scaling, it allows her to fit into different teams. Her overall damage output is insane, and it alone is enough to put her in the SS tier of our Wuthering Waves tier list.
Mornye
Mornye is one of the best support characters in Wuthering Waves. She is one of the strongest healers and is very similar to Shorekeeper in terms of abilities. Mornye buffs all DMG amplification and enhances Off-Tune buildup rate for all resonators. She also increases the damage taken by enemies.
Best WuWa S Tier Characters
The S-tier characters in Wuthering Waves are also strong units that can still be comparable to the SS-tier resonators. However, they either fall short of the damage output in comparison or have slightly shifted away from the meta.
Luuk Herssen
Luke Herssen is the premier Tune Strain DPS who scales primarily from Basic Attack damage. He has a ton of maneuverability, having a kit focused on aerial attacks. This gives much coverage against bosses and enemies. Luuk is a very easy-to-play character with a simple playstyle. One of the unique things about Luuk is that he shines more as the fight is dragged on, which gives him an innate advantage against bosses in Wutherign Waves.
The reason we have placed Luke in the S tier is that he is very dependent on Lynae and Mornye. Without them, he cannot stack Tune Strain nearly as fast, which decreases his damage output significantly.
Verina
Verina is one of the best Resonators in Wuthering Waves, even today. She is an extremely strong supporter character in the game, with amazing off-field healing and buffs. It only takes a couple of seconds to get the best out of her kit in every rotation. Verina can solo sustain any team in Wuthering Waves without compromising on the DPS output from the team.
Jiyan
Jiyan, the general of the Midnight Rangers, is also one of the strongest DPS in the game and easily takes his place in the Wuthering Waves S-tier ranking. He is a heavy attack-focused character with strong AoE attacks. Jiyan is also extremely easy to play and can wipe out entire groups of enemies alone after using his Resonance Liberation.
Carlotta
Carlotta is the best Glacio DPS in Wuthering Waves, but as Glacio teams are not in the main meta, she has dropped down to the S-tier. She is still a very strong DPS character and is the premier Glacio DPS unit. Overall, she is still a good character, but no longer in the meta. That’s one of the reasons why her placement has dropped to the S-tier in the Wuthering Waves tier list.
Zani
Zani is the best Spectro DPS in the game right now, and she makes full use of Spectro Frazzle to deal very high damage. The only reason she is currently in S-tier is that the meta has shifted to Tune Break from Spectro Frazzle. She is still an outstanding character and can help you run through most of the in-game challenges at the hardest of difficulties.
Chisa
Chisa is a universal debuffer who can increase the max stack count for all status effects and can reduce the defense of enemies through her kit. She is extremely useful, but as the current meta is mostly catered towards amplifying supports, her team choices are limited. If the meta shifts back in the future, we might see Chisa enter the SS tier spot.
Sanhua
Sanhua is one of the best free Resonators in Wuthering Waves. Unlike how free characters tend to go, Sanhua is a very strong glacio DPS, even stronger than some 5-star DPS characters when built correctly. Being the bodyguard to the magistrate of Jinzhou city, Sanhua definitely plays her role as a character correctly.
Best WuWa A Tier Characters
Wuthering Waves A-tier Resonators are also strong characters who are good alternatives to S and SS-tier resonators. However, they lack in some aspects and are not the first choice for most team comps. You should only go for these characters if they are fulfilling a specific role in a team comp, or if you like their character in general.
This tier will feature characters like Brant, Cantarella, Qiuyuan, Encore, Zhezhi, and more with similar capabilities. These characters are still good and shouldn’t be looked down upon in Wuthering Waves.
Best WuWa B Tier Characters
The B-Tier characters in Wuthering are good early-game characters who can also be decent in the mid-game. Many of these characters were also placed high in the tier list back in the day, but have slowly been power creeped by new characters and thrown out of the meta.
Characters like Calcharo, Havoc Rover, Danjin, Jianxin, and others of similar aptitude make this tier. Danjin is still a very strong unit, but with an incredibly niche playstyle that not everyone can enjoy.
Best WuWa C Tier Characters
The C-tier characters in the Wuthering Waves tier list are the worst in the game. You should not pull for these characters on your own volition. They are only decent in the early game and completely fall off in mid-to-late game content.
This tier is made up of Chixia, Lingyang, Youhu, Lumi, Aalto, Yangyang, and Taoqi, all of whom are very weak and not part of the meta.
