10 Popular Anime Characters with White Hair

In anime, we get to meet several characters with different hair colors, but not all of them become popular. For instance, Jujutsu Kaisen introduced the community to the white-haired Gojo Satoru, who eventually became the most popular animanga character of all time. Now, for those wondering if there are other popular anime characters with white hair, we present you with a curated list here.

  • Debut Episode: 21

Tengen Uzui, also known as the Sound Hashira, is a prominent character in Demon Slayer. He is someone who likes flashy things and is often seen getting excited about almost everything.

His white hair looks even more awesome due to his jewelry and flamboyant clothes. He also showcases a different side of his personality during his confrontation with the demons. Tengen isn’t called the second-strongest Hashira in terms of physical strength for no reason.

In the Entertainment District arc (check out Demon Slayer anime watch order), he could lock horns with the Upper-Rank Demon siblings, Daki and Gyutaro. These demons have previously killed many powerful Hashira, but Tengen could easily decapitate Daki without exerting much.

Despite boasting massive combating abilities, Tengen is someone who believes that he is nothing in front of the other Hashiras, especially the enigmatic Flame Hashira.

Before turning into a vengeful villain, Gin Ichimaru was a member of the Soul Society. He is a character from the Bleach universe who can perplex you with his smile; you will never be able to think what is happening in his mind.

When Gin was the captain of Gotei 13’s third division, he wasn’t trusted by many of his peers as they always knew that there was something not right with him. Finally, they were proved correct when Gin showed his true colors and betrayed the Soul Society. Gin isn’t a good guy, but he looks fancy due to his white-colored hair with a touch of silver.

  • Anime: One Punch Man
  • Debut Episode: 13

Garou in One Punch Man (Season 3 coming soon) boasts an appearance that makes him resemble a young wolf, and the white hair goes very well with his overall appearance and personality.

He is introduced as an antagonist who has a strong hatred towards the heroes. His combating skills help him to fight a group of heroes all by himself. However, despite his displeasure for superheroes, he never wants to kill them with his own hands, so he waits for others to do the remaining work for him.

Garou has superhuman abilities that allow him to defeat A-Class heroes without over-exerting himself. Not only the physical abilities, but the white-haired villain also has incredible durability that lets him keep going even after receiving severe injuries.

7. Toshiro Hitsugaya

Toshiro Hitsugaya flaunts a short build but his fabulous spiked white hair makes him noticeable in the crowd. Toshiro appears as a kid, but he has numerous abilities that make him a fearful foe for the toughest opponents. Since childhood, Hitsugaya has dreamed of becoming a Shinobi, and with his exceptional swordsman skills, he became the youngest Shinobi captain. He also achieved a bankai at a very young age.

Toshiro Hitsugaya’s defensive skills also allow him to survive the deadliest attacks from his enemies. His overall personality and skillsets made him one of the most popular characters among the Bleach manga readers.

6. Asta

  • Anime: Black Clover
  • Debut Episode: 1

Forgetting Asta from Black Clover would be a sin, especially while discussing the most popular anime characters with white hair. Asta, too, has spiked white hair, but unlike other characters on this list, Asta’s white hair is accompanied by a muscular build.

He is the series’ main protagonist who dared to dream of becoming a wizard king despite lacking magical powers. Even though Asta isn’t a magic user, he is considered unique because of his anti-magic. Using this, he can nullify even the strongest magic spells.

Initially, Asta boasted basic swordsman skills, but the boy succeeded in proving his worth throughout the series. In addition to his swordsmanship, Asta has gained the attention of his allies and enemies with his superhuman durability and physical strength.

5. Atsushi Nakajima

  • Anime: Bungo Stray Dogs
  • Debut Episode: 1

Atsushi comes from the thrilling world of Bungo Stray Dogs. He is a member of the Armed Detective Agency and can transform into a white tiger. Since childhood, Atsushi was often mistreated by the Orphanage caretakers, which is why he has always had low self-esteem. Hence, he couldn’t take control of his powers until becoming an official member of the detective agency.

Atsushi’s childhood scars made him question his own value, but ever since the day he came across the Armed Detective Agency, his whole personality underwent a massive change, in a good way, of course. He is an average-looking guy with a slim build but you can’t help but appreciate his shiny white hair.

4. Hatake Kakashi

  • Anime: Naruto
  • Debut Episode: 3

Kakashi, like Gojo, has long white hair, but the Copy Ninja flexes the spiked hairstyle along with a face mask. We only get to see Kakashi’s complete face once, and we just know that he is a handsome man.

Kakashi is one of the prominent characters in the most celebrated animanga series — Naruto. With his intellect and sharp fighting skills, he became the sixth Hokage of Konoha following the Fourth Shinobi World War. Kakashi lost his mother at a very young age, so he was raised by his father, who taught him all the lessons a proficient ninja is supposed to learn. However, after his father’s demise, Kakashi didn’t lose hope and honed his skills to the extent that he could combat several opponents single-handedly.

Kakashi’s father was known for his bravery in Konoha, and Kakashi successfully carried the legacy forward. He was so legendary that he even received praise from the Akatsuki’s S-Rank members.

  • Anime: Tokyo Ghoul
  • Debut Episode: 1

The main protagonist of Tokyo Ghoul, Ken Kaneki, was living a normal life until his date tried to devour him. After having a near-death experience, Kaneki eventually becomes a half-ghoul whose new abilities make him even more powerful than the ghouls. Unlike the other anime characters on this list, Kaneki wasn’t born with white hair.

The trauma and torture he went through turned his hair white. But the silver lining is that the white hair did make him a more appealing character in the anime.

Ken Kaneki undergoes a massive change after the hybrid transformation. However, instead of attacking humans, he fights for the ones he loves and protects them from the deadly ghouls.

2. Killua Zoldyck

  • Anime: Hunter x Hunter
  • Debut Episode: 6 (1999), 3 (2011)

Killua Zoldyck surprisingly looks like a mini version of Jujutsu Kaisen’s Gojo. He flexes a similar build and demeanor with unforgettable white hair. Excitingly, JJK Season 2 featured young Gojo in a flashback, and we instantly realized that the voice actor of Killua Zoldyck lent her voice to the JJK character.

In HxH, Killua is the best friend of our main protagonist, Gon. He appears as a playful kid at the start, but he does not waste time to show us the other side of him (the assassin) whenever an enemy shows up. Killua was a one-man army even when he lacked Nen’s complete knowledge. Besides that, his speed and agility help him disappear in thin air from the enemies’ sight.

1. Gojo Satoru

  • Anime: Jujutsu Kaisen
  • Debut Episode: 1

Gojo Satoru is one of the most popular and influential anime characters from the fantastic Jujutsu Kaisen anime. He flaunts long white hair that is usually accompanied by a blindfold or sunglasses. Despite carrying a goofy attitude, he is often seen with an arrogant demeanor around his enemies and the ones he believes are weak. Even though Yuji Itadori is the main protagonist of JJK, we can’t argue that Gojo’s popularity is more than his.

Gojo is considered the strongest by the students of Jujutsu High; he is even feared by the curses. For instance, he could beat the crap out of the volcano-head curse, Jogo, without breaking a sweat in the starting moments of the series.

Of course, several other anime characters have beautiful white hair but these are surely some of the most iconic ones.
