Even though Oppenheimer deserved each award it received but Barbie did not deserve to be given just one award in total. Barbie made a massive Box Office collection and received amazing reviews from both general public and critics. It seems that Barbie has fallen victim to the bias followed by the voters at the Academy and is facing the results of a machinery that has only been appreciating one kind of filmmaking.
At the Oscars 2024, stars like Mark Ruffalo, Finneas O'Connell and Billie Eilish were seen wearing a red pin on their clothes as a symbol of raising their voices calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. All the actors and artists seen wearing the pins are a member of a group called Artists4ceasefire who wrote a signed letter to the President Biden to call a ceasefire in Gaza.

Oscars 2024 is over, and as expected, Oppenheimer has made a clean sweep at the awards show. After a very long time, a new category of awards is being added to Oscars. A new award titled "The Academy Award for Achievement in Casting" will be added to the Oscars category. Movies releasing in 2025 will stand a chance to land nomination for this award. The rules and regulations for this award will be issues in 2025 as well.
