Shonen Jump Holiday Break Delays Chapter 1104

If you look at the trajectory of the high moments in the Egghead arc, it never stopped breaking the boundaries of what’s possible in the One Piece universe. Another high inarguably occurred during the telling of the tearful backstory of Bartholomew Kuma. Well, that heart-wrenching tale came to an end with chapter 1102, and we returned to the present time in chapter 1103 (recap below).

Chapter 1103 ended with Kuma clenching his fists and preparing to smack the face of one of the five elders in One Piece, St. Jaygarcia Saturn. I mean, we all wanted to do this to Saturn once we learned about the wicked things he did to Kuma’s family, but gear up to witness the most satisfying punch in One Piece history; right up there with Luffy’s punch against the Celestial Dragon.

This gives us all the more reason to wait for the release of One Piece chapter 1104, which is set to be released on January 21, 2024, at 7:00 AM PST. As for the Japanese fans, it will be released on January 22, 2024, at 12:00 AM JST due to timezone differences.

If you are wondering why there is a big break between the releases, it is because the Shonen Jump staff is currently on a holiday break. Chapter 1103 just came out on January 5, and now, we have to patiently wait for the next two weeks to get the next chapter from Oda sensei.

Recap of One Piece Manga Chapter 1103

After Kuma and Ginny’s story, which sure was a tearjerker, this chapter took us back to the present timeline on Egghead Island as Bonney eventually learned everything she needs to know about her father through the memory bubble.

A short conversation between Dr. Vegapunk and Bonney took place in which she apologized to the old man once she realized who were truly the bad guys in their family story. Then, we were back to St. Saturn in his devil form, confronting Bonney along with Dr. Vegapunk and Straw Hats crew members.

While this was happening, someone sneakily delivered an enormous amount of food to Luffy. Who could it be? Was it Caribou or Kizaru? We will find that out in the next chapter.

St. Saturn confessed all the sinful acts he had done to the Kuma family which involved Bartholomew Kuma, Ginny, and Bonney. While it seemed like there was no hope for this situation to turn around, the former warlord and Revolutionary Army commander, Kuma, stormed into Egghead Island.

We knew he would come to save his daughter, and he did so! Chapter 1103 ended with an enraged Kuma clenching his fist to deliver a thundering strike to St. Saturn.

What to Expect in One Piece Chapter 1104

So, first things first, we know Oda is starting to draw the curtains close on the Egghead Island arc, therefore, a glorious climax awaits us. Chapter 1104 will likely mark the start of the fascinating end to this unbelievable arc. As Luffy was seen filling up his tummy, along with an enraged Kuma out to save his daughter, we can expect a lot of action. We may even get to see Luffy use his signature Gear 5 technique yet again.

Kuma is finally back (although we know how much of his true self is left inside him), and he will give his all in this final battle against St. Saturn. He is ready to exact revenge and set things straight after what that old devil did to their kind family.

It is heavily speculated that Kuma will also finally witness his longtime idol, Nika (Luffy) very soon. Who knows maybe Nika will also fight alongside Kuma which would be a dream come true moment for all the fans.

Well, it sucks that we have to wait for such a long time to see how things unfold in the pre-climax of the Egghead arc. But worry not, as we will be able to enter Egghead Island for the first time again as the arc is premiering in the anime!
