Yesterday, Xiaomi confirmed on Weibo that along with the Mi CC9 smartphone, the company will also be launching a special edition Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition phone on July 2nd, and now, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun has given us more information about this Custom Edition phone.

In a post on Weibo, Lei Jun showed off a picture of the Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition smartphone’s box, and shared some information about the phone as well. The post shows off that the Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition will come in a special light-blue colored box that looks minimal, and honestly quite pretty.

Other than that, Lei Jun said in his Weibo post that the Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition will come in a 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, but didn’t say anything about other specs for the phone. The Mi CC9 on the other hand, is expected to come in a 8GB/256GB variant as well, with the Snapdragon 730, 6.2-inch display, triple rear cameras with a 48MP primary camera, and a 32MP selfie shooter. It wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if the Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition also comes with the same specs as the Mi CC9, but we’ll have to wait for the official launch to find out what Xiaomi has planned.

Apart from Lei Jun’s informative Weibo post, Meitu’s official Weibo account also teased a feature from the Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition – AI night photography. The account shared a post with a picture that shows how the Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition will be able to take bright and detailed photos even in a completely dark room – at least that’s what Meitu is claiming.
