Control Resonant Release Date and Platforms
Control Resonant, AKA Control 2, launches on September 24, 2026. Remedy Entertainment confirmed the sequel during The Game Awards 2025, with a full reveal. A bigger Control Resonant gameplay showcase was also shared soon at the State of Play in February and June 2026. We can say from the trailers that it is one of the most anticipated 2026 video game releases.
The game is coming to PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, Mac via Steam and the App Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. A PlayStation 5 version is already available to wishlist. Remedy is self-publishing this time after acquiring full rights to the franchise.
Is There a Trailer For Control Resonant?
Control Resonant has received plenty of trailers recently. The story trailer was shared at the State of Play 2026 event, and now Remedy Entertainment has shared a Paranatural Manhattan trailer at the Summer Game Fest 2026. You can check out the corrupted landscapes of Manhattan and the various enemies you will be fighting very soon below:
Everything You Need to Know About Control Resonant
Unlike the first game, Control Resonant showcases Dylan Faden as the protagonist. After years in confinement under the Federal Bureau of Control, Dylan is released into a Manhattan that has gone nuclear. The Oldest House no longer contains the chaos, as reality itself is breaking in the open.
Control 2 Story and Setting
The sequel takes place after the events of Control. Just days before the lockdown, an uncategorized resonance appeared in Manhattan. As a result, the city has been reshaped by a cosmic force that twists architecture and gravity. Dylan is humanity’s only shot at survival and is tasked with confronting this threat while searching for his sister Jesse Faden, now Director of the FBC.

The game is not a fully open world. Instead, it will be semi-open, featuring large, distinct zones. One early area, the West Incursion Zone, begins grounded and gradually folds in on itself. Roads flip overhead. Buildings tilt into walkable walls. Gravity becomes a suggestion rather than a rule.
Zoe De Vera, an FBC field agent, serves as Dylan’s handler. Her voice guides him through unstable terrain and increasingly hostile encounters. Their dynamic appears central to the narrative. Thus, along with Jesse, Dylan will uncover their troubled past as he crushes the new hostile forces in Manhattan.
Gameplay and Combat Systems
Remedy describes the sequel as an open-ended action-adventure RPG. You control Dylan in fast-paced melee-focused combat using the Aberrant, a shape-shifting weapon. It transforms into forms such as Hammer, Blades, Scythe, and Fists. More forms are being kept secret for now.
Traversal is just as important as combat. Dylan’s Reach ability lets him cross impossible gaps. Gravity Anomalies flip orientation, forcing players to rethink what counts as ground. Shift allows him to redirect momentum mid movement, making vertical and inverted spaces fully explorable.

Progression revolves around expanding your toolkit. Defeating powerful bosses known as Resonants unlocks new abilities. These enemies are corrupted remnants of once-powerful individuals. Each victory strengthens Dylan, reinforcing the loop between challenge and reward.
Customization systems allow players to equip different weapon forms and abilities before combat. The goal is to build a combat flow that fits your style, whether grounded and heavy or airborne and aggressive.
Control Resonant Confirmed Prices
After staying quiet for a while, Remedy has opened the pre-orders for Control: Resonant on June 2, 2026. You can now pre-purchase the Control Resonant Standard Edition for $59.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition for $69.99.
So, that’s everything there is to know about Control Resonant. We cannot wait for the game to release this year. What’s your take so far? Let us know in the comments.
While Control Resonant follows the events of Control, Remedy has described it as a standalone experience centered on Dylan Faden.
Yes, at least tonally and thematically. Remedy has built a shared universe linking Control and Alan Wake 2, and Control Resonant continues that strange overlap between cosmic horror and bureaucratic sci-fi.
Control Resonant is releasing on September 24, 2026.
