- A new vehicle system may be in development for Marvel Rivals.
- The information comes from X account RivalsInfo, which shared footage of a vehicle exploring Hellfire Bay Beach.
- According to the report, the vehicle system could be tied to a racing mode, but nothing has been confirmed.
Marvel Rivals might be getting a new vehicle system for possible racing modes. The report comes from reputed X user RivalsInfo, who attached a gameplay video of the upcoming vehicle system.
The X post shows an unrendered vehicle model exploring Marvel Rivals’ Hellfire Bay Beach social hub. We see the vehicle in both first- and third-person perspectives in the video. However, the video doesn’t confirm whether this vehicle system is part of the social hubs or a possible Formula R racing mode.
For players unaware, Formula R is a cosmetic theme in Marvel Rivals based on racing uniforms and vehicles. So far, only five heroes have received Formula R skins:
- Luna Snow (Sonic Trailblazer)
- Squirrel Girl (Turbo Tailwind)
- Pyslocke (Fleeting Butterfly)
- Black Cat (Wild Card)
- Thor (Lightning Fast)
The X account was unclear on when the vehicle system would appear in-game, possibly ruling out a release in Marvel Rivals Season 9.5 on August 7.
The Marvel Rivals Season 9.5 roadmap doesn’t include any Formula R-based cosmetic items, nor does it feature a new Formula R mode for the upcoming vehicle system. However, never say never, as NetEase has done the unthinkable, such as overhauling the Marvel Rivals team-up system and reworking Black Widow‘s kit in Season 9.
Whatever the case may be, the leak could piont to a Formula R mode similar to Fortnite’s Rocket Racing, which is unfortunately shutting down in October 2026. It’s all speculation at this point, but NetEase could implement new features like power-ups and abilities in the possible mode to spice up Marvel Rivals’ gameplay.
Currently, the game is gearing up for the release of Season 9.5 on August 7, 2026, which introduces a brand-new Vanguard, The Hood, to the ever-growing roster. Not only that, but the update will also reduce Marvel Rivals’ file sizes on PC and consoles, add a new event titled “Creed of Akkaba,” along with skins for Iron Fist, The Hood, and Moon Knight.
